Wrong views hold that there is no cause and effect, and cling to the views of permanence and annihilation. They embellish what is not in accordance and deny what exists. Each of these three mental states also has its own substance and similar aspects. Greed is perfected by two branches: the object on which greed arises belongs to another, and greed arises towards it. If we analyze this as a combination of five dharmas, if the object of greed does not belong to another, there is no cause for greed. If attachment is not generated towards it, there is no condition for greed. If the characteristics of the object are seen and its taste is experienced, but it is not mentally possessed, then true miserliness will not manifest. If the mind does not exert effort, it is not greed. Therefore, these four dharmas are complete and co-emergent at the moment greed arises. Furthermore, if one desires to obtain the happiness and fruits of higher realms in future lives and makes aspirations, and if this is considered the ultimate form of greed, then a blind person's aspiration to gain sight would also become greed. So, whose eyes are they targeting? Through this reasoning, it should be understood that this creates faults in the results of meritorious actions. The Treasury of Knowledge also states: "Greed is perverted, coveting others' wealth; harm is hating sentient beings; viewing good and non-good as non-existent; this is called wrong view." Therefore, it is only considered greed when one covets wealth similar to one's own in this life and mentally possesses it. If one attains the position of Brahma or Indra, and does not have dominion over their realms and enjoyments, then whose greed are they following? Furthermore, the commentary on the Distinguishing Actions states: "Greed arises from anger towards hearing, etc.; anger arises from not liking benefit; and slandering true virtuous friends, the Dharma, and others is in accordance with anger." That is, regarding others' belongings, thinking, 'How wonderful if it were mine!' and possessing it with miserliness is greed. Regarding others' belongings and hearing, etc., while being unable to bear it, thinking, 'How wonderful if it were under my control!' is the similar aspect. Harmful intent is perfected by two branches: the object is a sentient being, and one has the intention to torment that being. If we analyze its characteristics in detail, it is hatred or anger towards other sentient beings, that is, having the intention to torment that being.

The objects of anger are nine, namely, thinking, "He has harmed me, is harming me, will harm me." And thinking, "He has harmed, is harming, will harm that which is beneficial to me, which I like, which has become my friend." And thinking, "He has benefited, is benefiting, will benefit that which is not amicable to me, which I do not like, which wants to harm me, which does not want to benefit me." Due to being associated with past grudges, from the thought of the three times of past, present, and future, from the distinction of welcoming and following, extreme aversion to the harmer is the mind of hatred, repeatedly remembering resentment is the mind of anger, extreme intolerance of this is the mind of pride, thinking that it doesn't matter if one kills or beats is the mind of malice, being overwhelmed by shame and faults is the mind of ignorance, possessing these five dharmas. The similar side is, not liking benefit, cultivating the accumulation of bad things, and separating from good things. Wrong view is perfected by two branches, namely, the basis is inverted, the dharma of cause and effect is definitely not deceptive, but the thought is inverted, definitely thinking that there is no result of good and non-good, and the view of permanence and annihilation. The similar side is, hating the dharma and special individuals, and those who are ignorant, the results of good and evil have not matured into visible dharma, individuals who have accumulated powerful karma, some say that they are temporarily born in happy realms, etc., like this, doubting whether the results of karma are true or not, many who do this thought, this also becomes the similar side of wrong view of cause and effect. Now explaining the results of these, all mature in the manner of four results. Vipāka, similar cause, dominant and what is done by the doer, since it arises from non-virtuous objects, non-virtuous intention, non-virtuous thought and action, therefore it is vipāka, and similar cause, and dominant or autonomous result, on top of these three, adding the result done by the oral instruction, there are four in total. In order to explain the first side, does the vipāka result have five dharmas or not? The small of the three intentions throws into animals, the middle throws into pretas, the large throws into hell. Like this, for those non-virtuous actions, arising from all
