If, upon seeing one's own faults, one confesses with great regret and from then on upholds the precepts with a mind of discipline, then one will be restored to purity. This is because the arising of the virtue of abandoning evil deeds is the antidote to it. Here, the earth and space, Mount Meru, etc., may change their positions up and down, and the sun and moon may fall. The Three Jewels will not deceive, and firm conviction is always meaningful. Thus, when this container world is destroyed, everything will become emptiness, so the positions of the earth and Mount Meru, etc., will be occupied by space. And, from the beginning of formation, the wind mandala causes the earth to be stable in the position of space, so the positions are very chaotic. Because the basis of the planets and stars, the world's wind wheel, is destroyed, the sun and moon will also not be in their original positions, so the term "falling" is established. However, for the compassion and truthful words of the Tathagata, there will never be an opportunity for deception and change, so the only thing worthy of trust is the Three Jewels. The sutra says: It is possible for space to become earth, or for earth to become space. The words spoken by the Tathagata will never change. It is possible for Mount Meru to move from its position, or for the sun and moon to fall. The words spoken by the Tathagata will not have other changes. Thus, in order to conclude the benefits of refuge, which is complete with the three aspects of preparation, main part, and conclusion, along with its subsequent effects, even in dreams one will see the Three Jewels, maintain mindfulness, and be endowed with all qualities. One will remember past lives and easily cross the bardo. One will become the support and friend of all sentient beings. Thus, in all stages of this life, future lives, and the bardo, one should know that those qualities of happiness and perfection do not arise from oneself, but only from the compassion of the Three Jewels. Why? Because it is the power of compassion that always thinks of benefiting all sentient beings. In the chapter of the Truthful One, it says: The darkness of ignorance constantly covers, the beings whose minds are obscured, seeing them immersed in the prison of samsara, the upright sage gives rise to compassion. And, the great compassion of the Buddha constantly arises, it will not fail to arise, it exists in the minds of all beings,

It is said that the Buddha has no faults. However, those with little learning may not understand that the blessings of the Three Jewels are to eliminate their own bad karma, and may have doubts about the cause and effect of taking refuge. As it says in the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra: If a murderer has his hand cut off, wouldn't it be better if he were liberated? Wouldn't it be better to be free from hell with a small human suffering? Like this, if a person with faith in the Three Jewels becomes sick and suffers, it is a sign that the suffering of the evil realms that can be avoided in the next life is exhausted. As it says in the Prajñāpāramitā Chedaka: Rabjor, any son or daughter of good family who takes, holds, reads, and fully understands these words of the sutra will be tormented. Why is that? Rabjor, it is like this, the non-virtuous deeds of the previous lives of those sentient beings that would cause them to be born in evil destinies will be purified by being tormented in this very life, and they will also attain the enlightenment of the Buddha. As it is said in the scriptures. Also, like this, some people do not remember the Three Jewels, and commit the five inexpiable sins, the deeds of discord, and various harms to sentient beings, but their enjoyments and so on increase more and more in this life. This is because the fruits of the few good deeds accumulated unintentionally in previous lives have been exhausted without any remainder, and it is a sign that they will immediately fall into the great hell after death. Just like in the past, in a sinful country under the sun, first it rained barley for seven days, then it rained rice, then it rained jewels, then it rained gravel, and then everything was burned. Then all the mountains collapsed and were destroyed at the same time. In general, when unfortunate things happen to sinful people at the end of their lives for no reason, it is because the fruits of their previous good deeds could not even sustain the end of their lives in that body of a happy realm, so it is a precursor to their future fall into the evil realms. It is obvious that those who make a living by herding dogs and hunting have visions of being gathered and destroyed at the time of death. If this happens to virtuous people, it is a sign of the exhaustion of karma, which can also be clearly understood by explaining the key points. Therefore, have faith in cause and effect.
