The distinctions of the earth are also explained. These three are called cities that are visible, partially visible, and invisible, based on the distinction of coarse and fine. Thus, these three are afflicted by the three sufferings, and from these three arise minor non-virtues that lead to rebirth as animals due to ignorance; intermediate non-virtues and attachment lead to rebirth as hungry ghosts; and great non-virtues and hatred lead to rebirth as hell beings. Virtuous deeds, meritorious fortune, and pride lead to rebirth as gods and humans. Virtue associated with jealousy leads to rebirth as demigods, thus establishing high and low realms and species. The distinctions of the ripening and completion of these virtuous and non-virtuous deeds are as follows: being propelled by virtue and completed by virtue; being propelled by virtue but completed by non-virtue; being propelled by non-virtue and completed by non-virtue; and being propelled by non-virtue but completed by virtue. These are the four possibilities. The first refers to gods and humans whose lineage, form, wealth, and everything else are perfectly complete. The second refers to those born in happy realms but who are miserable, lacking faculties and limbs, and having little power. The third refers to those born in any of the lower realms, suffering and experiencing only misery. The fourth refers to certain animals or hungry ghosts who are perfect in form and wealth. Moreover, there are cases where one action propels only one body. There are cases where one action propels many bodies. There are cases where many actions propel one body. There are cases where many actions propel many bodies. This depends on the strength and power of the propelling cause. The first case is like a woman who gives birth to a Brahma due to compassion for her child. The second case is like the noble Maudgalyayana, who said, "I have been born seven times as a god of the Thirty-Three due to the maturation of a single merit, and now I am born as a wealthy Shakya." The third case is like Devadatta, who, due to the karma accumulated over many lifetimes, became a sinful practitioner in the form of a monk. The fourth case, like the noble Upali, where multiple bodies are formed by nourishing multiple causes, is accepted by the Sutra school and above. Thus, actions...

Like not creating and accumulating, creating but not accumulating, creating and accumulating, and neither creating nor accumulating, thus dividing into four categories. The first case, for example, taking warfare as an example, without any concept of seizing the territory of the other party or causing the enemy to weaken, but because others cherish their own regime and protect their lives, or like governing the regime in accordance with the Dharma, fearing that it will become an obstacle, even if unwilling, even if regretting, one has to do it helplessly, this is like creating but not accumulating. However, its essence is that the karma of sin is very powerful, and it possesses various kinds of similar causes, so one karma can cause the birth of multiple bodies. The second case, for example, like lying, although it has been accepted in the mind for a long time, but in reality, it has not been spoken. The third case, harmful thoughts also arise, and one is merely satisfied with causing harm. The fourth case, because the motivation is abandonment, it is impossible to produce a fully ripened result, therefore it is an unpredetermined karma. Regarding this, the Abhidharmakosha says: 'One throws one birth, complete accomplishment is not multiple.' It means that one who throws throws one birth, not multiple. Although there are multiple completers, multiple throwers will not throw only one birth. However, here, it is measured by reason through the lightness and heaviness of five aspects, such as signs and attachments. Through these, after understanding that good and non-good karma, and the result of karma are factors that arise dependently and in relation, now, in order to determine the true path of karma, first, it is explained to rely on the incomparable Three Jewels: Just as fire burns and incinerates, if there is no antidote other than water, then the great sin of deceiving and abandoning the Three Jewels cannot be matched. Like this, the result of karma is like an ocean without end, among which the sins that rely on the Three Jewels are as large as makaras. Even the heavy sins such as killing one's father and killing one's mother can be confessed by relying on the Three Jewels, but destroying or slandering the representations of body, speech, and mind, abandoning the Dharma, slandering the Mahayana Sangha, and defiling their property, etc.
