I, with wrong views, perform virtuous deeds, but all ripenings are unpleasant. ( इति ) Some apply the term 'right view' only to the ultimate truth, but since its result is related to the heavens, it is the worldly right view. The Blessed One said: Whoever possesses the worldly right view, will not fall into the lower realms even for a thousand kalpas. This is clearly shown. Those who have great faith in cause and effect can generate great results even from small causes of merit. Therefore, the example of the importance of motivation is: Once, a monk begged for alms from a householder. The householder said: If you are an Arhat, then I will offer, otherwise I do not want to. The monk said: I am not an Arhat and returned. However, because of his small desires, he thought that he must be an Arhat, so he invited the monk back. Whether he was an Arhat or not, he invited him by teaching the Dharma with an upright mind, so he obtained the merit of offering to an Arhat. Therefore, good and bad motivation is the only cause of attraction, and the appearance of good and evil does not follow the magnitude of power. If the root is medicine, then the sprout is also medicine. If the root is poison, what need is there to mention the sprout? The thought of good and non-good is the cause of attraction, and the size of the image of good and evil does not follow it. Thus, the metaphor and meaning are combined. If the motivation is pure, then the actions of body and speech, which for a time appear in other forms, will only become good. This exists in the state of the Great Vehicle. The Ratnavali says: Without attachment, without hatred, without ignorance, the actions generated by that are virtuous. Also, the goodness of evil motivation is the image of goodness, that is, attachment, hatred, ignorance, etc., the actions generated by that are non-virtuous. Also, the Sutra says: With a good mind, placing two shoes on the head of the Buddha, and likewise, those removed by others, both will obtain kingship. Thus, the meaning is fully understood, because the worry that the rain would destroy the image, and the worry that the fear would harm the body, both thoughts became the cause of obtaining kingship. Here, it refers to the differences in the weight of good and non-good of those who act in the desire realm.
