Since this is the chapter mainly discussing rocks, like this, permanence and attachment, there is no antidote. The karma arising from the basis, mainly possessing qualities, these five are the ones that closely take the lightness and heaviness of virtue and sin, it is said to be the consciousness. Thus it is said. Among them, the heaviness of karma is caused by the four differences of causes, namely: habituation, intention, antidote, and basis. Among them, first, the difference of habituation is permanence, that is, even for a small karma, one habituates for a long time, for example, even for the purpose of doing small harm to other beings, one continuously enters that evil thought from a long time ago. Second, the difference of intention is attachment, that is, even if the actual karma is only short in time, one has strong afflictions and joy, being angry, quarreling, arrogant, and not putting one's mind into anything other than that karma, for example, when King Ashoka was tormented by sinful thoughts, if actions such as killing were not completed at the beginning of the day, his mind would not be at peace, so he would not even eat. Third, the difference of the antidote is that the karma that has been done, if it relies on the nature of the basis, the Bodhisattva, and the Three Jewels, and is suppressed by powerful antidotes such as refutation, it will become small, if that karma has no antidote and is practiced in a willful manner, it will become powerful. Fourth, the basis is of two types, namely, possessing qualities and benefiting. Possessing qualities are the Three Jewels, and the Bodhisattva who is one lifetime away from Buddhahood, and those who arise from cessation, etc. Benefiting are parents, and those who must repay kindness, and those who have become objects of compassion, etc. Therefore, these five are the ones that definitely produce results no matter what virtuous or non-virtuous karma is done, and produce many close takers, therefore, the noble Nagarjuna said: Permanence and attachment, and no antidote, the karma arising from the basis, mainly possessing qualities, these five of virtue and non-virtue are great, therefore, strive to practice virtue. Thus it is said. Like this, if we slightly explain the plan and differences of virtuous and non-virtuous karma, the basis of everything, the foundation of everything.

It was not indicated. From that, the consciousness of mind and the five objects arises. The great demon of ignorance, which pervades everything, seizes the three afflictions, causing beings to rise and fall in samsara. Like this, from the alaya, which abandons any distinction, the mind of discernment arises as the alaya consciousness. Although it itself is the basis of planning, it does not spread to the object. After that, a huge blind mind of clinging to the object arises, and the one who discerns is the mind that clings to "I". After that, the afflicted mind arises to reject and establish, and the sight of seeing forms based on the eyes is established as eye consciousness, and so on. The part of knowing sounds, smells, tastes, and tactile objects based on the ears, nose, tongue, and body is the consciousness of the five objects. Since these later consciousnesses arise and expand from the earlier parts, they are also called "birthplaces," and when the object and the consciousness with the object gather like the support and the supported, they feel and perceive in the form of happiness or suffering, and from the gathering arises the feeling of the condition of contact. In short, all actions that arise from the gathering of the object of knowledge, the root of knowledge, and attention, and are motivated by the three poisons, are unwholesome. Everything that arises from the motivation of love and so on, free from the three poisons, is wholesome. However, since the ten virtues and so on, which are not grasped by the wisdom and compassion of the essence of the path, are contained in the ground of ignorance, they produce the happiness of gods and humans and then are exhausted, so they are called "wholesome deeds in accordance with merit," because there is only the state of higher realms as a result. From the moment of being grasped by the path just mentioned, it becomes the cause of enlightenment, so it is wholesome in accordance with liberation. Wholesome deeds in accordance with liberation bring about both higher realms in the temporary and definite goodness in the ultimate. Opposed to these two is that wholesome deeds motivated by the three poisons are the cause of the three lower realms and all suffering, and their basis is also the three inner realms. As it is said in the General Sutra: The coarse body is the desire realm, the subtle speech is the form realm, and the extremely subtle mind is the formless realm. In those three cities, the noble boy of light dwells. The meaning is that the support is the mind, and the supported is self-born wisdom.
