The gods and close attendants enjoy these heads, thus forming the saying of the Thirty-Three Gods. The body height is twice a quarter of a yojana, which is three hundred and fifty bow-lengths. Life is calculated with one day equal to one hundred human years, and the lifespan is one thousand years. The lord of the gods does not manifest birth and death, because their consciousness transforms and transfers, so only his own consorts, such as the daughter of Thagsangsri, the goddess De, etc., know about his entering the womb. Furthermore, there are countless consorts and attendants, a thousand sons, and many goddesses adorned with flower headdresses, precious earrings, and bracelets. All of these gradually spread downwards from the peak of existence, and then spread to humans. The Sutras say that humans spread from those beings with little merit from the luminous celestial race who came here. It is also said that they spread from the four great king races. The scriptures say that from Tushita Heaven, the sons of gods, Sun Radiantly Shining and Moon Immaculate, were born miraculously from lotuses and came to Jambudvipa (the continent where we live). Therefore, the beings of this continent initially spread from them, so it is known as the land of karmic birth. At that time, because there were no towns or humans, there was no distinction between gods and humans. Those beings, like the gods of the form realm, had bodies of light, were beautiful in form, pleasing to the eye, with beautiful faculties and limbs, could walk and dwell in the sky, could go wherever they wished with just a thought, enjoyed happiness as food, had no distinction of male and female, and had no manifest afflictions. This is called the first kalpa (aeon), and the names of those beings were also known as sentient beings, and they possessed virtues almost equal to those of the gods. After a long time had passed, the sound of "invisible" was heard seven times from the sky, and therefore they were named humans. At that time, the previous good kalpa began to decline, merit and light also decreased, and latent afflictions were easily manifested. That is, from immeasurable lifespan to eighty thousand years, the body size of grown men was also thirty-two cubits of their own height.
