If even that is not taken as refuge, what need is there to mention the pretas who wander in the sky and have some magic and clairvoyance? If one thinks that protectors like the Seventy-five Lords are not suitable as Dharma protectors, it is because one does not believe in the Three Jewels, or because one looks higher than them and abandons them, which is not right. In the temporary situation, there is no prohibition against relying on and offering to them as helpers in accomplishing Dharma-related activities. For example, although one does not take a doctor as refuge, one still relies on him to cure illnesses. Having gone for refuge to the Dharma, one should abandon actions such as binding and beating sentient beings, putting them in pens, piercing their noses and forcing them apart, tormenting them with unbearable loads, and driving them according to the length of the road, etc., because many people do not recognize these as misdeeds due to ignorance, and they are great harm to sentient beings. For example, deliberately taking birds and wild animals, etc., as possessions for the sake of play and wonder is no different from confining them in pens. How do they obtain the suffering and harm of being prevented from roaming freely? It will become clear by considering it in relation to oneself. Having gone for refuge to the Sangha, one should not associate with those who do not believe in and slander the Three Jewels, and one should not even be inclined towards those who do not hold the Three Jewels in high esteem. There are three precepts for accomplishing this: For images of the Victorious Ones, whether painted or sculpted, whatever their form and style, one should not assess their value, one should not leave them in a place of neglect, and one should not use them as collateral, etc. All forms of disrespect must be avoided. As it says in the Holy Dharma White Lotus Sutra: "Emanating in many forms of images, benefiting beings by engaging in virtue." Because the images are of the nature of emanation bodies. Therefore, there are many scriptures that say that the ripening of the cause and effect of faith and disrespect towards the Three Jewels is inconceivable. One should not be disrespectful to even one of the four lines of Dharma. In the Vinaya Sutra it says: "Do no evil, cultivate perfect virtue, subdue your own mind, this is the teaching of the Buddhas." Because it contains the complete structure of the teachings of the Buddha's words and realization, one should not sell scriptures as merchandise, nor should one place them on bare ground.

Abandoning unimportant things, reducing service, avoiding quarrels and mortgages, etc., one should rise even when seeing the holy people who have faith in the Three Jewels inviting scriptures, join palms, dismount from the vehicle, and even be careful at the grain storage place. Now, debating the words and meanings of the Dharma, treating the image of the incarnation as an object of play and ridicule, is indulging wisdom and accumulating the root of ignorance. Why? Because it is said in the scriptures: In the last of the five hundred years, I exist in the form of letters, think of that as me, and then respect it. Similarly, one should not despise the Sangha of monks, or even those who merely hold the mark of a renunciate practitioner. Not only should one impart the precepts of refuge, but the fault of despising the Sangha with discipline is very serious. For example, Shebu Serkya once said to the Sangha who were learning and not learning: You elephant-headed ones, what do you know about Dharma or non-Dharma? Having spoken eighteen kinds of evil words like this, he was reborn as eighteen kinds of aquatic creatures with different heads. From Dipamkara Buddha to Shakyamuni Buddha, he remained in the animal realm. Therefore, it is clearly stated in the Vinaya that judging and commenting arbitrarily like this is a very serious fault. Even if the discipline is corrupted, but as long as the marks of a monk are not abandoned, just as there is musk on the body of a dead yak and musk on the body of a dead deer, there are still some fruits of previous good deeds, so one should not despise and punish them. This is explained in detail in the Sutra of the Ten Wheels of Ksitigarbha. Our teacher, even when his respect for the Three Jewels turned into the image of an animal, did not diminish. The Lion King, because of his firm faith in the Yidam, even trusted and respected the hunter who disguised himself as a renunciate to take his life. Taking this as an example, one does not judge the faults of others. In general, the teacher Hero said: Fighting with those with wrong views,
