Otherwise, the body of the Buddha, abiding without difference from the nature of reality, is the Sangha; speech is the Dharma; mind abides as the Dharmakaya of the Buddha, therefore it is believed that the three bodies are one in essence with the nature of the Three Jewels. As it is said in Yeshe Drubpa (Achievement of Wisdom): "The mind free from stains is the Buddha, the unchanging and stainless is the Dharma, the perfection of qualities is the Sangha, therefore one's own mind is supreme." Therefore, in order to show the three types of sentient beings who are the objects of refuge, (it is said in the scriptures): "The small person, from three motivations, fears the lower realms and goes towards higher rebirths; the middling two fear samsara and seek liberation, temporarily going as long as life lasts, and ultimately until the attainment of the fruits of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas; the great being fears the peace of abandoning others, in order to liberate the great breath of samsara, goes towards enlightenment, which is also one's own mind, the refuge of the fruit of abandoning separation and deception." Therefore, there are three types of minds of beings, namely the lowest of the low, who hope for refuge in temporary places of refuge, because they are afraid of small fears, they hope for refuge in their respective deities, mountains, forests, etc. As it is said in the Sutra of the Noble Banner: "People frightened by fear mostly go for refuge to mountains and forests, gardens, stupas, and trees. That refuge is not the main one, that refuge is not the supreme one, relying on those refuges, one will not be completely liberated from all suffering." Thus, those who have not entered a philosophical system, or those who have entered a system but attribute refuge to what is not refuge, are considered outsiders; and those who have entered Buddhism but have limited faith in the Three Jewels and lack the ability to enter the path; and those who, out of respect for the paths taught by the Teacher for the sake of achieving temporary higher states, do not value the status of this life, but take as their sole motivation the pursuit of the blissful results of higher rebirths in future lives, are considered small persons. As it is said in the Lamp for the Path: "Whoever, by those means, seeks only the happiness of samsara for himself, that person is the lowest."

As it is said. Therefore, those who take refuge in the Three Jewels are slightly different from the small ones. In reality, they are afraid of the fear of evil destinies, and they aspire to the temporary result of heaven. Also, taking refuge only until the happiness of higher realms is obtained is not good. In the Vinaya Sutra, the Venerable Ananda told the Brahmin girl about the reasons for taking refuge in the merits of heaven. The Blessed One said: Ananda, it is not like that. Those who seek the happiness of existence are called inferior beings. Therefore, the merits of liberation should be truly proclaimed. As it is said. Liberation refers to the definitive goodness of liberation from samsara. The path of the middling person refers to all the teachings taught by the teacher based on the Hearer and Solitary Buddha vehicles. In this way, with the difference of wisdom, knowing that the nature of all existence and peace is suffering, thereby generating disgust, and seeking to attain liberation for one's own sake, taking refuge before this, and temporarily for the rest of one's life, and ultimately until the fruit of Hearer and Solitary Buddha is attained. As it is said in the Jewel Cloud Sutra: Whoever, whenever, in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha, has taken refuge and protection, the truth of the Four Noble Truths, suffering and the cause of suffering, the truth of the cessation of suffering, and the path to nirvana, the eightfold noble path, if one can see it with the eye of wisdom, those refuges are the most venerable, those refuges are the most supreme, relying on those refuges, one can be liberated from all suffering. As it is said. The path of the great person refers to the two great vehicles of cause and effect, namely mantra and paramita, as a means to accomplish omniscience. The person who strives to accomplish this meaning is called a great person, and his nature is dominated by great compassion, therefore he fears the peace of abandoning the benefit of others, and in order to completely eliminate the suffering of other sentient beings, he aims to attain Buddhahood, and before this, he takes refuge in the Three Jewels. In the Great Liberation Sutra,
