琉璃，砗磲，珊瑚等装满了大船，驶向赡部洲。在海中央，龙摧毁了大船，那些商人仅仅带着残余的生命回来了。国王因为贪欲的缘故，修整并装饰了花园。准备了一个巨大的场所来陈列各种珍宝，城市里的所有人都聚集在一起观看珍宝。当时，商人们只剩下一件上衣，以可怜的样子来到国王面前，讲述了事情的经过。当时，一位名叫德瓦比丘（དགེ་སློང་དབང་པོ།）的比丘，按照教诲国王的方法，在一块铜牌上写道：这片土地被大海侵扰，国王拥有力量，无有忧愁。极其强大和威严的，携带财宝居住在海中的，那些家伙迅速地，将他们带到我的面前。写完这些字后，扔向大海，龙对国王的话语感到不满，将牌子扔回了赡部洲。信使将情况告诉了国王，国王无忧（མྱ་ངན་མེད།）心中明白了，开始想办法。当时，空中的天神说：如果向天人供养之塔，如来（དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ།）的舍利塔供养，以此积累功德，你的需求就会实现。其他咒语和药物都无法做到。说完这些意义的偈颂后，国王洗了头发，穿上白色的衣服，拿着香，花环等，向获得十方神通的人们祈祷和迎请，发出了巨大的悲鸣声。 随即，从四面八方聚集了六万阿罗汉。当时，国王用香，花，香水，涂香等对如来（དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ།）的舍利塔进行了盛大的供养，并作了偈颂赞美。还为比丘僧团举起了伞盖进行供养。当时，具寿德瓦（དབང་པོ།）对国王说：大国王，第一个是你的形象，第二个是龙的形象。将两个美好的形象放入金制的大容器中。

Filled the large ship with lapis lazuli, conch shells, coral, and so on, and set out towards Jambudvipa. In the middle of the ocean, the nagas destroyed the large ship, and those merchants returned with only the remnants of their lives. The king, because of desire, cleaned and decorated the pleasure garden. He prepared a large place to display all kinds of jewels, and all the people of the city gathered to see the jewels. At that time, the merchants, with only one upper garment, came in a miserable state and told the king what had happened. Then, a monk named Devapriya, as instructed, wrote on a copper plate: 'Protect this land from being encroached upon by the ocean. King, powerful and without sorrow. Those who are extremely strong and mighty, who dwell in the ocean carrying treasures, bring them here quickly to my presence.' After writing these words, he threw it into the ocean. The nagas were displeased with the king's words and threw the plate back to Jambudvipa. Then the messenger told the king the situation, and King Ashoka understood and began to think of a way. At that time, a god in the sky said: 'If you make offerings to the stupa of gods and humans, the relics of the Tathagata, by doing so, merit will increase and your needs will be fulfilled. No other mantras or medicines can do it.' After speaking these verses of meaning, the king washed his hair, put on white clothes, and holding incense, garlands of flowers, etc., he made great supplications and invocations to those who had attained the ten powers. Immediately, sixty thousand arhats gathered from all directions. Then the king made great offerings to the relics of the Tathagata with incense, flowers, perfumes, ointments, etc., and made praises in verses. He also raised umbrellas and offered them to the monastic community of monks. At that time, the venerable Devapriya said to the king: 'Great King, the first is your image, the second is the image of the naga. Place the two beautiful images in a large golden vessel.'

将那两个放一边，你将会亲眼看到功德的差别。国王也那样做了，过了一会儿观看，龙的形象还在那里，而国王的形象却在向龙顶礼。当时，具寿大权说道：大国王，请继续努力积攒功德，你将会一天比一天看到差别。这样说了之后，国王也如前一样，对如来佛的舍利和比丘僧众广作供养，恭敬地听闻佛法。就这样，国王的形象站立起来，而龙的形象则向他顶礼。最终，龙的形象用所有的肢体向国王的形象顶礼，国王心中无比欢喜，说道： 唉呀！供养三宝的果报是何等景象啊！ 居住在海洋中的龙， 我已经调伏并掌控了它。 智慧浅薄的人们啊！ 谁会不去供养佛陀呢？ 谁会对立即产生果报的事， 不用心去思考呢？ 想要获得伟大的人们啊！ 无论是天神还是人类， 都应真实供养圆满的佛陀， 从而断绝生死，不再轮回。 这样说道。当时，具寿大权知道国王的功德已经转化为力量，时机已到，便劝说道：大国王，现在是将铜制书信送给龙的时候了。国王像之前一样，派遣使者将书信送往大海。龙王用头顶接过了书信，并承诺送还之前的珍宝。当时，国王准备派遣商人出发时， 具寿大权按照吩咐， 在铜制的书简上写道： 赡部洲的统治者，违背神圣命令的惩罚，各自用自己的肩膀扛着，送到这里来。 书信一送到，龙王立刻感到害怕， 承诺道： 神啊，我将带着七把伞前去拜见。 于是，在城市的所有民众聚集的中央，国王坐在狮子宝座上，龙王和他的眷属幻化成人的模样，带着珍宝。

The king did as he was told, and after a while, he looked and saw that the form of the Naga was still there, but the form of the king was seen bowing to the Naga. Then, the venerable Powerful One said, "Great king, please continue to strive for the cause of merit, and you will see the difference day by day." After saying this, the king continued to make great offerings to the relics of the Thus-Gone One and to the community of monks, and he listened to the Dharma with reverence. As such, the form of the king stood up, and the form of the Naga bowed to him. Eventually, the form of the Naga bowed to the form of the king with all its limbs, and the king was overjoyed and said: Alas! What a sight is the fruit of offering to the Three Jewels! The Naga who dwells in the ocean, I have tamed and now control. O people of little wisdom! Who would not worship the Buddha? Who would not think with their mind about that which produces immediate fruit? Those who desire to attain greatness! Both gods and humans should truly worship the perfect Buddha, Thus ending birth and having no rebirth. Thus he spoke. Then, the venerable Powerful One, knowing that the king's merit had become a strength and that the time had come, urged him, saying, "Great king, now is the time to send the copper letter to the Naga." The king, as before, sent a messenger to send the letter to the ocean. The Naga king received the letter with the top of his head and promised to send back the previous jewels. Then, as the king was preparing to send the merchants, The venerable Powerful One, as instructed, wrote on the copper tablet: The ruler of Jambudvipa, the punishment for breaking the sacred command, carry it on your own shoulders and bring it here. As soon as the letter was seen, the Naga king became frightened and promised: O God, I will go to see you with seven umbrellas. Then, in the center of the city where all the people were gathered, the king sat on a lion throne, and the Naga king and his retinue transformed into human form, bringing jewels.
