Offering a hundred thousand times is not as good as applying a drop of sandalwood to each pore of the Guru; even a thousand times cannot compare. Furthermore, as the Samputa Tantra states: Why is it that the merit of offering to the Buddhas of the ten directions and the Bodhicitta is surpassed by a single pore of the Guru? Therefore, those who make offerings to the Guru are beheld by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Thus, when Ananda, the brother of the Tathagata, was the son of King Kriki, his skin turned golden in color due to the veneration of applying fragrance to Buddha Light Protect. Moreover, by undertaking the labor of erecting an umbrella on the stupa of his relics, he perfected the signs of a Chakravartin king. Under the guise of accumulating disciples, the merit of venerating a Buddha who is disguised as a virtuous friend only becomes the cause of the Prajnaparamita and will never be wasted in the Bardo. Therefore, one should offer eight pleasing objects. The General Sutra states: Faith without weariness, gentleness without stinginess, wealth without miserliness, service without hesitation, honest speech without deceit, self-discipline without flattery, wisdom without ignorance, and eight kinds of sincere intention without defilement, offer them completely to the holy one. The holy one's teachings, the ultimate of practice, are completely understood and liberate the mindstream, and one goes unimpeded in all that is to be known. By untying the knots of one's own mindstream, one flies like a bird in the sky of wisdom. Thus it is. Also, initially, one should please with material possessions, as that sutra states: The kingdom and one's own body, sons and wives, the essence of wealth, the most precious and pleasing, supreme wealth, offer to the holy one. Thus, even if the Guru does not have those needs or desires, but from the perspective of one's own generosity, if a truly pleasing thought arises from the depths of one's heart, then one obtains merit equal to that of offering. In the middle, accomplishing pleasure through the service of body and speech, the Bodhisattva Pitaka states: In order to take the essence from a body without essence, one should please the Guru; even if there is nothing, one should offer a full jar of water. Also, the previous Tantra states: One's own body also

In any case, use wealth to redeem what is valuable. In order to gain meaning from this meaningless body, if you have the ability, personally doing service, laying out cushions, delivering towels, acting as a messenger, doing work, handling residence affairs, and even including lifting and placing items, welcoming and sending off guests, etc., is the best. If you do not have the ability, since you have already offered your body, you should establish a concept of not owning yourself, and accomplish the method of redeeming by paying a price, just like paying remuneration to others to complete the learning of knowledge, or things that you must complete yourself. Or, as it is said in the "Fifty Verses on the Guru": "If unable, encourage with words," you should carefully consider what the causes and conditions are, and then obtain permission. Such merit is immeasurable. The Ocean of Wisdom says: Whoever For the Guru's affairs, whoever is wise and fortunate. To all the Buddhas of the three times, for six million kalpas, Performing prostrations, this is of great significance. If you act as the Guru teaches, all wishes will be fulfilled, and immeasurable merit will be obtained. Whoever pleases the Guru with their own wealth and belongings, this person from the three realms of samsara, in the pure land of the incarnate body, can breathe a sigh of relief, and go to the place of cessation. Thus. Therefore, relying on these two methods of service or offering, grasp the Guru's intention, understand the profound and vast Dharma well, and finally please the Guru with the offering of practice alone. The General Sutra says: The holy Sugatas of the past, after pleasing the excellent guide, went to monasteries far from the dust, more than this can please the holy one. Thus. The latter holy one refers to the wisdom of having attained complete liberation, as the former said: Just like a clever child, bound by a chain of restraint, once untied, is relaxed and free, and can walk without hindrance. This wise mind, bound by the fetters of ignorance, after the holy one opens the door of liberation, the lineage of knowledge is completely liberated, and walks without hindrance. This is what is said in the sixty-seventh chapter. In order to prevent the error of one's own appearance, do not view any action wrongly.
