The definitive discernment of the instructions is: In the Thallgyur, it says, "If divided, there are four aspects," namely, the nature, the moment of death, the nature of reality, and existence, which are determined as the four boundaries of the bardo. First, the bardo of nature is: The general category of sentient beings' realms, on the Alaya, the imprints left by previous afflictions, and from the aspect of generating the subsequent ones, are seeds. Due to the power of different karmas, there is the power to project various states such as happiness, suffering, and intermediate states. Therefore, it is called the ability, and one fundamental ignorance generates the fruits of different grasping and perceived objects. Due to the similarity of karma, the individual parts combine, and thus it appears as the six realms of beings. There, for the same object (409), due to the respective karmas of sentient beings, even the same water is seen as nectar by gods, as water by humans, as something to drink by animals, as pus and blood by pretas, and as a rain of burning coals by hell beings. However, it is not truly established from the outside. As it is said in the Bodhicharyavatara, "Who created the burning iron ground? From where did those fire masses arise? All of these are said by the Sage to be the mind of sin." As it is said. Therefore, from the mere arrangement of the appearance of the three realms, one falls into the bardo of nature. Here, we human beings are obscured by the five aggregates from the appearance of the five bodies, obscured by the six sense bases and twelve sources from the clear light of purity, and obscured by karma and afflictions from the appearance of the nature of reality. Therefore, we now experience the happiness and suffering of our own nature, and there is no choice but to lead to future existence. Having recognized this great flaw, in order to reverse it, in the bardo of nature (410), the method of cutting through the superimpositions of what is to be known, for example, a clever bird among birds carefully examines the harm caused by humans and others when building its nest for the first time. After building the nest in a safe place, it enters the nest without hesitation at any time later. Right now, make the supreme preparations for being escorted to the pure land. Hearing is the lamp that dispels the darkness of ignorance. With these meanings in mind, it is important to definitely cut through superimpositions through hearing and thinking. Moreover, now is the degenerate age, tormented by various declines and sorrows. In order to show this, in the precious words and meanings, it is said that in the past, during the good aeon, the lamas were all great accomplished ones, and one's own karma and the compassion of the lamas

Even if liberation is attained through a single, crucial Dharma that aligns with one's inclinations and karmic connections, thanks to profound knowledge, it is difficult to find good karmic connections in this day and age. Due to the multitude of conceptual thoughts, even severing them with a single expedient is merely exhausting the extremes (p. 411). Ordinary individuals must train in unbiased study and contemplation. The final stage of this Nyingtik teaching is the time to reach the "ground of practice through aspiration." In particular, since this Secret King is the pinnacle of all teachings, only those with extensive study and contemplation, superior wisdom, and excellent fortune can realize its meaning. Therefore, to enter this vehicle, one must rely on someone with extensive study and contemplation. Furthermore, the teacher must be unerring; if they err, everything they teach will be flawed. Therefore, extensive study and contemplation are of utmost importance. This is a teaching given with great compassion for beings in the degenerate age. Secondly, the Bardo of Dying: From the "Union of Sun and Moon": "Life is impermanent, like a traveler; a traveler does not stay forever." Because from the moment of birth, the nature of death appears to be waiting ahead. Therefore, the detailed branches of observing and deceiving death, as explained in the "Union of Sun and Moon" and the texts of instructions (p. 412), should be brought into practice, thereby liberating oneself from sudden obstacles. Regardless of this, wherever one dwells, there is no place where death cannot reach. "That place does not exist." As explained in the "Sutra of Advice to the King," the moment of impact is from the onset of the fatal illness until the cessation of inner breath. At that time, instructions are needed to clarify what is unclear, like a beautiful woman looking in a mirror. As stated in the "Union": "At that time, the Guru's instructions should be integrated into one's own being." Therefore, for those who have no signs of death, cannot calculate when or where they will die, and die like children, those who have become Great Perfection practitioners, these instructions are not necessary. However, for the best of the middling, who are not harmed by external circumstances, the manner of dying like a beggar at crossroads and city streets, or the middling who are unaffected by external circumstances, dying like wild animals and lions in snowy mountains, caves, and empty valleys (p. 413), entering the Dharmakaya of clear light, or entering the place
