Even if called upon to attend to the lotus feet of Shakyamuni Buddha and having crossed to the other side of hearing the Dharma as vast as the ocean, one only attained the state of a Stream Enterer until the first council, without achieving the state of an Arhat. This noble being, in the ultimate sense, is said to be an emanation of Vajradhara, as stated in the tantra of the empowerment of Vajrapani Vajrapani). It is extremely foolish for us, childish ordinary beings, to desire enlightenment without practice. Therefore, in order to awaken the profound wisdom that is inherently present in our own mindstream, we must diligently learn from a qualified and virtuous spiritual friend (205) without distraction, following the profound path of instruction, meaning, and signs. We should not allow ourselves to be swayed by laziness and idleness for even a moment. We should not postpone things due to the desire for pleasure and the search for food. We should not remain indifferent due to external words and hopes or doubts. Thinking in this way, we should properly restrain our mindstream, and like a mother searching for her only child, we should not chase after this life for even a moment. We should crush laziness with diligence, swallow procrastination, and subdue idleness. Like tamed deer and rhinoceroses, we should rely on solitary places and wholeheartedly practice the teachings we have heard. I think this from the bottom of my heart. The sixth mind-training is: In the "Son's Book," it says: Worldly enjoyments are like honey produced from poison; the more one enjoys them, the more suffering they create. As stated in the "Bodhicharyavatara": "Although one wishes to eliminate suffering, one rushes headlong into suffering itself. Although one desires happiness, one destroys one's own happiness like an enemy due to ignorance." As it is said, we are extremely ignorant about what to accept and reject. We desire happiness, but what we do only creates the cause of suffering. For example, a moth loves the light of a flame and flies towards it, only to be burned alive and die. A bee is attached to the essence of honey and sucks on a flower, only to become stuck there or die with its mouth closed. A wild animal is killed because it listens to the sound of a flute. Fish are attached to the taste of the food on the tip of a hunter's hook and die on the shore. An elephant desires the cool touch of water and enters a lake, only to die. Doha Dzo

Thereafter, please observe (your own mind) like observing fish, birds, elephants, bees, and the deer here. Thus it is said. Therefore, in the mindstream of ourselves, there also exist hidden, latent afflictions, like salt dissolving in water. Just as a person with a chronic disease appears healthy, but when encountering food or behavior that triggers the disease, the disease manifests, similarly, due to attachment and clinging to the five objects of desire, and striving to accumulate only non-virtuous deeds, which are the cause of the three lower realms, one can only experience unwanted suffering. Now, in order to eliminate suffering, (207) one must definitely abandon the cause or source of suffering—sin. For example, it is not enough to take medicine simply because one knows that it is a disease causing pain. One must clearly recognize the cause and nature of the disease, such as hot and cold factors, and then, like taking an antidote, recognize that the root of sin is non-virtue. As stated in the Treasury of Knowledge: "Virtuous and non-virtuous, various kinds, the paths of action are said to be ten." Therefore, in summary, they can be categorized into ten non-virtuous actions. Among them, the three non-virtuous actions of the body are killing, stealing, and sexual misconduct; the four non-virtuous actions of speech are lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, and idle talk; the three non-virtuous actions of the mind are covetousness, malice, and wrong view. Generally speaking, no matter which sentient being is killed, it is undoubtedly the non-virtuous action of killing. If we differentiate in detail, there are killing with intention, killing with action, and ultimately completing the killing. If all three are complete, then all the non-virtuous actions of killing are accomplished, and the ripening result is very heavy. Killing with intention means generating the thought of killing. Killing with action means mistaken cognition, or death caused by trampling, etc., without the intention to kill. Now the number of sentient beings we have killed (208) is countless. For these, it is not enough to experience only one result of non-virtue. The ripening result belongs to the category of the five inexpiable sins, such as killing parents, teachers, arhats, etc., distinguished by the degree of heaviness. Therefore, it leads to falling into the three lower realms such as hell. In terms of the result similar to the cause, even if one temporarily obtains a higher realm, one will have a short life. In terms of the dominating result, even if one consumes food and medicine, they will not be effective. Stealing means that the object taken is not owned by oneself and is owned by others.
