If the key to showing various activities in four ways is not understood, then it is possible that good and bad will appear mixed. At that time, the mind that generates the thought of fault must be refuted. If you can refute it, then you will inevitably see that everything done is good. Therefore, for all the actions of the lama that appear as faults, one must make a special effort to clarify the antidote. Whether the lama's actions are good or bad, the way of discussing, the way of eating, etc., if a thought like "this is not good" suddenly arises, then immediately stop that thought and do not cling to or follow it. Think like this: "For a sentient being with bad karma like me, it is impossible for such a special lama to have such faults. It must be that my own habitual karma and afflictions from beginningless time are causing it to appear as a fault. What is the difference between an old woman who ate sour fruit seeing a comb falling from the sky, and a person suffering from jaundice seeing the color of a white conch shell as yellow?" We, beings whose hearts are pierced by the five arrows of desire, following their behavior, what necessity is there to deliberately show those impure actions with deep meaning? Even Shakyamuni, the guide who has exhausted all faults and perfected all virtues, was seen as a source of faults by the monk Sunakshatra and the six heretical teachers such as Devadatta. The previous pandits, khenpos, teachers and students, kings (186) and ministers, Bodhisattvas, were also seen as a source of faults by the Bonpos and evil ministers. There is no difference between the noble Asanga seeing Maitreya as a dog whose lower body was being eaten by worms. In the Sutra of the Meeting of Father and Son, the Sugata also said that he manifested as a demon to benefit sentient beings. Therefore, seeing the Buddha as a demon is also only one's own impure appearance. In reality, those objects have no faults at all. One must repeatedly think and generate such certainty, thereby suppressing the conceptual thoughts that see faults. As it is said in the "Condensed Meaning of the Tantras": "In all the actions of the lama, think of them as the actions of the Buddha. If sleeping or rising, look at them as the appearance of clear light and illusion. Whatever you do, whether prostrating or circumambulating, show it as the play of the Buddha. Dancing and various postures

When appearing in wrath, it is the manifestation of the Buddha's intention. Whether showing anger or attachment, it should be regarded as the Buddha's Bodhi. Even if killing a hundred people at once, it is the Buddha's act of benefiting beings. Even if playing with a hundred consorts, it is the great mudra of great bliss wisdom. Whatever desire appears, the Buddha is free from desire. Everything is the Buddha's action, whatever is done is seeing the good path, whatever is said is hearing the sacred Dharma, whatever is thought is the glory of omniscience. Even if a delusion arises towards the Guru, it will not happen until the end of samsara. If it does happen, it is only an illusion of appearance, because one's own appearance and thoughts are impure. Just like a person with eye disease sees snow, although the snow itself will not always be black, they will truly see black. Just like a jaundiced person sees a conch shell, although the conch shell itself is always white, they will see yellow. Just like a person with wrong views sees water, even if there is no blood, pus, or weapons, they will see pus, blood, and weapons. Therefore, regarding the Guru's biography, if wrong views arise, the path to liberation will be blocked. This is the skillful means of taming beings, and should be understood as symbols and methods. Thus it is said. Therefore, in the definitive sense, once a deep conviction arises that the holy being has no faults at all, then all good qualities will naturally arise. As the teacher Nagarjuna said: (188) If someone falls from the top of a mountain, even if they think they will not fall, they will eventually fall. If one receives the words of benefit from the Guru's kindness, even if they think they will not be liberated, they will eventually be liberated. Thus it is said. In order to generate great reverence, even scolding is teaching the Dharma, even beating is seen as blessing, it must be regarded in this way. The scriptures distinguish and say: In short, beating and scolding, fierce mantras and battles, the thrusting of weapons, whatever is done, is a method of clearing one's own faults. Disrespect towards these should be abandoned. The actions of the Guru's body, speech, and mind, whatever is done, are the dance and miraculous play of the Buddha, nothing else should be thought. If one does so, accomplishments will turn their back, due to wrong reverence one will be controlled by demons, be sick, have a short life, and fall into the lower realms. Thus it is said. Therefore, like this, my Guru is one who has exhausted all faults and possesses all qualities.
