Despair! For the mind itself, inseparable from face and hand gestures, this cannot be seen by the path of Mahāyoga: the error of viewing appearances and existence as the forms of deities, and the clinging thoughts that take sounds as mantras. From the experiential realization of Samantabhadra, this is the first chapter, establishing the philosophical tenets of the eight vehicles. Kyé ho! In my own nature, the Great Perfection, all phenomena of samsara and nirvana are perfected as inseparable from abandonment and attainment. The essential points of the instructions are perfected as the Great Perfection of self-liberation. The essential points of view are perfected as being without permanence or annihilation. The paths of meditation are perfected as being without effort (116). The practices of conduct are perfected as being without allowance or prohibition. The essence of the result is perfected as being free from wishful thinking. The term 'perfection' is merely a conceptual designation. The essence of all phenomena is bodhicitta. The mind of all Buddhas is also bodhicitta. The life of all sentient beings is also bodhicitta. In bodhicitta, there is no conventional or ultimate truth. Saying 'non-existent' does not increase emptiness. Grasping 'existent' does not transform the mind into permanence. Not grasping, not abandoning, the mind naturally transcends the sphere. A space free from all conceptual fabrications. Because I have no artificial conceptual thoughts, good and evil actions and results are completely exhausted. What is the use of deities, mantras, and samadhi? I am not a Buddha who is attained through practice. In my own nature, the Great Pervasiveness, how can it be possible to see by traversing grounds and paths? Therefore, without being bound by the ropes of hope and fear, rest the excellent view in pride and liberation. Emerge from the sheath of profound (117) Om (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Devanagari: ओम्, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, Literal meaning: Om) meditation and rest. Rest the conduct in the guise of artificial ropes. Transform the hopes and fears of the great result and rest. Transcending meditation and non-meditation, in the state of awareness. The calculations of what to do and not to do vanish into the sphere. Transcending emptiness and non-emptiness is bodhicitta. Beyond the bias of existence and non-existence is the primordial space. In the awareness that is beyond speech, thought, and expression, possessing the life-force without the antidote of clinging, naked, still, the nature of self-liberation, a space free from all effort and elaboration, abiding in the self without increase or decrease in the three times. From the experiential realization of Samantabhadra, this is the second chapter, revealing the Great Perfection as the original liberation, naturally abiding. Kyé ho! Thus, bodhicitta, inseparable from abandonment and attainment, the essence of the Sugata's awareness, although abiding in the continuum, is bound by an artificial box. How should one meditate?

Obscuring the meaning of the essence of attachment. To the nature of being rootless and without essence, (118) by imputing knowledge as having arising and ceasing, like transforming the formless into form, one is distracted from the true meaning, afflicted. Some, after the cessation of thoughts and reflections, the form of emptiness meditation is corrupted by intentional clinging. Exhausted by forcefully squeezing through effort in meditation, it becomes a great obstacle for the life-force wind to enter the vital channel. While some have not seen the true nature, they are deceived by the words of the true, an unpredicted prophecy. In the obscuration of thoughts and reflections, it is extremely mistaken to grasp it as the essence of meditation. Some, with the intellect that knows the moving thoughts as mind, conceptualize externally to the arising and ceasing of thoughts and reflections. With that contemplation that counts the arising and ceasing, even if one meditates for a hundred years, one wanders in the wheel of delusion. Mostly, effortful striving alone stands as the enemy, if one meditates, various discomforts and pains arise. If one does not meditate, one does not know one's own face and wanders in delusion. Even that distracts from the uncorrected true meaning. Kyeho! Since all that does not transcend the experience of ordinary beings, now, the mind of both meditating and not meditating, having ascertained that it is artificial conceptualization, leave the present mind without alteration. Also, abandon the searching of the compounding mind, and having abandoned all clinging of letting go and holding, leave this direct knowing, uncalculated and self-liberated, in its own state, abandoning additions, subtractions, and corrections. At that time, whatever conceptualization of characteristics arises, without looking at what arises, identify the one that arises, like driving a peg into a pasture, it is crucial to hold the self-awareness of knowing. How, even if one abides without going, coming, increasing, or decreasing, in the naked state of nature, if one is not separated from the sheath of clinging to it, one errs in the states of mind-based vehicles. Therefore, all the terms of view, meditation, and conduct are the mind's embellishment on the true meaning, the antidote of mindfulness and effort dissolves into space. Having the conduct of neither distraction nor non-distraction, the self-liberated one without expansion, contraction, elimination, (120) or placement, the space that is beyond all effortful elaboration, the great treasure without thought or thinker, that which knows that there is no Buddha from the beginning, having the nature of desire being exhausted from the beginning, with the characteristic of the root of samsara being rotten, the vastness of awakening in the space of sorrow, the emptiness that is beyond the extremes of truth and falsehood, arising liberation, self-liberation, staring liberation.
