।। The appearance overpowers, tiger and leopard skin. The assembly of mothers empowers, possessing tinkling bells. It is the hand implement of the Dakas and Dakinis. Seeing it, the conceptual thoughts of existence cease. Shaking it, other appearances are brought under control. Holding it, the assembly of mothers and sky-goers are near. From the life of phenomenal existence, gods and demons are drawn out. In the sound inseparable from emptiness, all that is stable and moving tremble and are agitated. This is the Perfection of Wisdom. This is a brief explanation of the definite aspects of the implements used in Chöd. At the urging of Drukpa Ngawang Dorje, I, Longchen Namkhai Naljor, have spoken this, slightly different from the babble of one holding a vajra earring. ।। (76) (77) OM! In the great Akanishta, the realm of the unerring nature of reality, the self-appearing pure, the awareness of primordial enlightenment is Samantabhadra himself. The Bhagavan, the King of Form, and the King of Feeling, and the King of Perception, and the King of Formation, and the (79) OM! King of Consciousness, and the five great elements, earth, water, fire, wind, and space, and the assembly of heroes and heroines who purify the senses, objects, and time, are all one. At that time, the great Bodhisattva called the Vajra of Discrimination arose from his seat and asked: From the difference between the Alaya and the Great Wisdom, the dharmas of samsara and nirvana appear as separate and distinct. You have repeatedly taught, what is the distinction between their characteristics? (80) What is the basis and essence of mind and mind itself? He replied: The Alaya is the great common basis of all samsara and nirvana, like the state of falling asleep when the senses are not awakened to objects. Even during the five states of mindlessness, the nature of the support and the supported of mind and mind itself remains latent. Below, this is taught as the nature of the Sugata-garbha, which is for the sake of children who temporarily doubt the stainless Dharmadhatu.

For the sake of truly guiding. Therefore, the understanding here is that the gate of pure wisdom is the path of Nirvana, the appearance of the Great Bindu, and like the ocean of the Dharma of the fruit; the gate of impure samsara, the collection of afflictions and discriminations, exists in an invisible, habitual manner like the inconceivable, therefore, sentient beings and Buddhas, as well as the wisdom of the path and the mind (81) oṃ (Tibetan, Devanagari: ॐ, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, literal Chinese meaning: oṃ) itself is not anything, but the container or basis of all things, therefore it is called Alaya. If divided, there are four types: the original basis Alaya, the Alaya of combined meaning, the Alaya of habitual body, and the Alaya of various habits. In short, their nature is: the realm of Alaya is like an egg that does not think of anything. What stands as the basis for the container of various skills is the Alaya-consciousness itself. From this, the wind that is stirred by the proximity of the three, good and non-good, attachment, aversion, and ignorance, is the characteristic of the mind. Thus, the karma that awakens from the objects of the six senses is the mind that grasps the grasper and the grasped. The afflicted mind is accompanied by ego-grasping, the five root afflictions, the twenty near afflictions, the fifty mental factors, and the eighty-four thousand thoughts arise and cease, leading to the complete fulfillment of all dependent origination of the three realms without remainder. (82) Alas! The wisdom of the Vajra of Realization, from the perspective of the Alaya realm, from the perspective of continuity, although not materially contradictory, is called the transformation of nature, like awakening from sleep. Thus, although the root consciousness awakens to objects, it is not defiled by the appearance of objects, nor is it contained within the two obscurations of co-emergent and imputed ignorance. In the nature of mere non-discrimination, although mind and mind-essence appear to be the same, mind is with grasping and invisibly accompanies the habits of objects, while mind-essence is nature free from elaboration, self-nature empty and clear, and the omniscient wisdom cannot be disturbed by objects and sinking or rising, therefore it is the complete fulfillment of all dependent origination of Nirvana. In the "Great Perfection, All-Good King of Awareness, Continuum of Wisdom," the chapter on explaining the basis and the gates of samsara and nirvana, is the first chapter. Again, the Vajra of Realization asked (83) oṃ (Tibetan, Devanagari: ॐ, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, literal Chinese meaning: oṃ), samsara and
