is lost in nature. Similarly, not believing in the path of ordinary awareness of self-knowing, not understanding that the nature of the inseparability of cause and effect is inherently spontaneously accomplished and complete, hoping to obtain the fruit of the Dharmakaya from elsewhere by practicing the emptiness of the path, and striving to cultivate it with conceptual mind is to be lost in the path. Whatever afflictions and thoughts arise, their essence has never gone beyond emptiness, so there is no need for both afflictions to be abandoned and emptiness as an antidote, but the key is that when the object to be abandoned is recognized by awareness, it is naturally liberated like a snake's knot being untied. If one needs to separately cultivate the emptiness of the antidote on top of the thoughts and afflictions to be abandoned, then one is lost in the antidote. Being lost in elaboration means that whether it is with or without elaboration, one does not understand that it is inherently spontaneously accomplished as the great union of clarity and emptiness in the vast sky of Kuntuzangmo, so the clinging of the stubborn practitioner and the clinging of practicing without an object are not integrated, resulting in the separation of skillful means and wisdom, and the continuity of ordinary awareness beyond thought, not guarding the action without an object, but keeping the initial place of recognition in mind, there is no object to be cultivated or cultivator. Everything is emptiness. Everything is Dharmakaya. Karma and its result are not true. It is mind. It is thought. Nothing is established, like this, to elaborate with a decisive view of emptiness, this is called elaboration, and this situation is very common nowadays. In short, when practice is in the hands of the practitioner, and one is proceeding towards the state of perfect qualities in every way, it is very difficult to encounter the hidden places of loss, error, and mistake, so if one does not discern these experiences, even if one is skilled in eloquence and words. As it is said in Dzogchen: Experience is like a mist, it vanishes and goes away. Like this, even small favorable and unfavorable conditions will deceive the practitioner, leading to mistakes in circumstances, and this is because if one does not grasp the special key points of eliminating obstacles and increasing merit, one will make strict restrictions of not meeting people, and bind oneself with a painful, resentful clinging mind and strict physical postures, and practice deity yoga, recite (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning) mantras (སྔགས,मन्त्र,mantra,真言), and practice channels and winds, etc., how can one obtain liberation and enlightenment by merely seeking and buying painful qualities? The Sutra of the Gathering of the Noble Ones says: Whoever

A ravine of a mountain with five hundred yojanas, even if inhabited by snakes, having dwelled there for many years, a Bodhisattva who does not understand this solitude will go elsewhere, having found excessive pride. Thus it is said. Therefore, having understood the key of taking whatever arises as the path, in the hermitage of the body, the practitioner of the mind dwells in solitary practice, there is no path more decisive than this. Do not rely on the rituals of yearly retreats or monthly retreats, but rather set the measure on life itself, and strive to maintain the unaltered natural state. Whatever good or bad thoughts arise, do not cling to them thinking, "This is a thought," do not apply the fire of remedies to what should be abandoned, etc., but like an old man watching a child's game (572), in a state of non-attention and freedom from elaboration, practice continuously day and night, thereby perfecting the skill of higher seeing and non-conceptualization. Whatever arises, be it state, movement, thought, awareness, good thought, or bad thought, take firm ground in the expanse of rigpa-emptiness, beyond mind, the Great Perfection. As it is said in Dzogchen, "Realization is like the sky, it does not change." Although the yogi's body appears ordinary, his mind dwells in the intention of the Dharmakaya, free from effort. Therefore, whatever appears in the mandala of samsara and nirvana is the natural expression of wisdom, appearances are signs and metaphors, the bhumis and paths are effortless, spontaneously accomplished. From the expanse of primordial liberation of samsara and nirvana, the benefit of the teachings and beings arises effortlessly and spontaneously. When the bonds of the body are broken, just as the space inside a vase merges inseparably with the space outside when the vase is broken, in the primordial ground, the manifestation of enlightenment as the youthful vase body, free from the knowing and knowable awareness, is the ultimate goal of practice (573). Here it is said: The false appearances of conventional illusion are absorbed into the nature of vast awareness. The activities of movement and thought are like a child's dance, relaxed in the state of awareness beyond mind. Without being intoxicated by the wine of good thoughts that seek high views and bad thoughts that fall into the trap of doubt, let ordinary awareness rest naked and relaxed. The clamor as vast as the mouth of a well, and climbing the dangerous paths of state and movement.
