I say, it is not self-born. And in "Perfected Merit," it says: The essence of self-(539)arising wisdom is the absence of conceptual thoughts of the mind. The past realm and the future realm, appearances are directly cut off. So it is said. The meaning of those tantras, easily explained, is that the all-knowing Ngakgi Wangpo, inseparable from the primordial protector, in the commentary on the "Dharmadhatu Treasury," the "Treasure of Teachings," says: Nowadays, the elephants who boast of Atiyoga, are the clusters of fleeting thoughts Bodhicitta? All this ignorance is a pit of darkness, far from the meaning of the Great Perfection of self-nature. If one does not know merit and what arises from merit, what need is there to speak of the nature of Bodhicitta? Even having mere faith in this vehicle has no share of good seeing, not even a fraction of a hair divided into a thousand parts. With the delusion of universal imputation, the body becomes stiff, and the face is adorned with a golden net of jealousy and wrong views. Some, boasting of understanding with the attitude of an elephant and possessing flattery, have themselves entered into the afflictions (540) of ignorance and wrong paths. Moreover, to those beings of little merit who are turning towards liberation and encountering faults, they instruct, saying: Whatever arises is the nature of Dharmakaya, and pure conceptual thought is self-born wisdom. So it is said. Meditation is, in reality, the mind of ignorance. And so on, by showing the falsehood of deceiving beings, they proclaim profound teachings that others do not have, which we see. This is a thief of this vehicle, who has now appeared. Thus, from the self-born wisdom, the power of compassion arises, and the knowledge that appears to the object is called the play arising from merit, but it is not self-born wisdom itself. Because it follows the presence or absence of the object, it follows the means, and if it is not grasped by the means, it becomes the karma and affliction of entering existence, and because the nature of conceptual thought and discrimination does not transcend the self-nature of samsara. As it is said (541), the sharp awareness of those who can recognize is only the nature of conceptual discrimination. Namkhai Naljor Lhatsun Chenpo also said: In front of those who have deteriorated in meditation, higher vision and examination are not mistaken. Likewise, whatever arises

Looking at the essence, clinging to self-identity, and the saying of letting the inherent nature be, are very popular nowadays, but the omniscient lama believes that this is not the correct path. Here, even if introduced, it cannot be understood. At the very moment of arising, one lets go and clings to the view of self-identity. This is because one has not understood the key point of "the fundamental error of conceptual thought." From the moment of arising, the naked awareness in which there is no place of arising and no one who arises, abides in the wisdom of unceasing compassion. If one can recognize this, then the root of self-born wisdom will naturally abide in its own place, and thus one will incidentally recognize it. Because the essence and self-power are inseparable, it is called the non-dual self-born wisdom, the single bindu free from elaboration. So, in this case, what is the completely pure proof? The third way of liberation (542), that is, the liberation of conceptual thoughts without benefit or harm, like a thief in an empty house, is the path of the lord of yoga. Just as when a thief enters an empty house, the thief cannot gain anything, and the empty house will not lose anything, it has already transcended the nature of gain and loss. Here, the essence of awareness is empty and clear, free from the obscuration of discriminating thought, and nothing is lost. This is the heart essence of meditation, or the original awareness. No matter how the conceptual thoughts of power move, because the discriminating consciousness is pure, the empty awareness in which there is no place of arising and no one who arises, in the vast state beyond thought, occupies the throne of the unchanging king of the Dharmakaya. Therefore, there is an explanation of not making benefit or harm to conceptual thoughts. This is an extremely pure and precious instruction that one is reluctant to speak about. No matter what state one is in, if the one who recognizes has not awakened in a state of nowhere to go and without limits, then awareness will move from its self-luminous bed and become accustomed to being lost in objects, thereby strengthening the power of illusion. No matter how highly one regards one's own realization, the seeds of samsara will continue to (543) exist. Even in the present path, for example, when strong conceptual thoughts such as suffering and fear arise, merely recognizing the conceptual thoughts themselves, your suffering and fear will be completely liberated, which is ridiculous. For this, the sky yogi Lhatsun Gyalpo himself holds the power. The Dagpo Kagyu school believes that conceptual thoughts are the Dharmakaya, while we Dzogchen practitioners...
