Like me. Like the maturation of non-discriminating wisdom, as if separated from the womb. The defilements connected to the three realms should be known like mud on clothes. The great self-master, like a vajra, is what is to be destroyed by samadhi. Thus it is. Therefore, the term "path of seeing" is established here, which is the same as practicing the seven branches of enlightenment in the Paramita Vehicle and attaining freedom from the dust of the eye of Dharma. At that time, one first attains transcendental wisdom, and attains great joy, surpassing the previous, therefore it is called the first ground, the Joyful Ground (506). As a sign of this path, immeasurable joy will arise in the post-attainment state. Since the opening of the sword of wisdom, which is the near cause of omniscience, will definitely occur, the path of seeing is manifested, and the transformation of attaining the first ground is established. So, from seeing the faces of a hundred Buddhas in an instant, to showing hundreds of perfectly complete retinues surrounding each body, the twelve hundred qualities, as well as the divine eye and super-knowledge, without self-mastery over birth and death, the ability to take birth as a king of Jambudvipa, etc., are these powers not manifested? It is not so. In the Great Perfection Tantra, it is illustrated by the example of a Garuda chick perfecting its abilities in the eggshell, and flying unhindered as soon as it breaks out of the eggshell, and also by the example of a fledgling bird being raised and nurtured in the nest for a long time after breaking out of the eggshell. In the Paramita, one must enter the path for countless eons, etc., and when will the fruit be manifested? In the Vajrayana, all the qualities of abandonment and realization are perfected in the body cage of the yogi, and as soon as one breaks out of the eggshell of the body (507), one can firmly occupy the ground of dual purity like a magic trick. Therefore, it is not necessary to see those qualities manifested in person. The detailed circumstances of this can be found in the instructions of the Seven Treasures and other treatises. Third, because it is similar to the path of meditation of the Paramita, it is named as such. The yoga of the path of meditation has three types: great, medium, and small. First, the small yoga. That is, in that very text: Grasping emptiness, abandoning objects, emptiness and non-emptiness surpass calculation. The two surpass Dharma.

Realizing the non-duality of one taste is called the yoga of the small path of meditation. As it is said, the intellectual obscuration of clinging to emptiness, which previously placed emptiness in the Madhyamaka state of non-elaboration, disappears. All appearances, such as white and red, dissolve into the mind, so the external object of grasping does not appear. All movements of the mind dissolve into the inexpressible awareness, so the clear consciousness of inner grasping is gone, and all interdependent relationships of samsara and nirvana appear as non-dual one taste. Therefore, (508) Mahamudra named it the small one taste. Secondly, the intermediate yoga is: From the same text: When the mind and phenomena are exhausted, whatever appears is free from grasping at objects. Appearances and mind are similar, and the sameness and after-effects are mostly mixed. This is called the yoga of the intermediate path of meditation. As it is said, all phenomena of samsara and nirvana become self-liberated sounds, and like water placed in water, the meditation that realizes the union beyond the mind has a slight obstacle of clinging to it, which is also removed, so the consciousness of afflictive mind is purified. From the power of mastering appearances and mind, the mere arrival of true mindfulness causes the abandonment and antidote to arise as self-liberation. By abandoning the consciousness of grasping objects and subjects as different, the sameness and after-effects are mostly mixed, so understand the sameness and after-effects as they are. The recognition of this sameness and after-effects should be known as the uncommon intention of our own Great Perfection tradition, which is the cutting off of my oral instruction's loopholes. At this time, because the sameness and after-effects arise spontaneously, the Great Perfection Mind Series says: In samadhi, samsara and nirvana are of equal (509) taste. In post-meditation, the eight consciousnesses are understood as illusions, so it is said to be free from fear. This is also the same here, but like the explanation of the four unions, the great non-elaboration is not heard. It is only spoken of as the intermediate one taste, which seems to be slightly different from this. However, this tradition establishes the meaning of the Vajra verses without error, so it should not be confused. The yogi Milarepa also held this view. Thirdly, the great path of meditation is: From the same text: The objects appear naturally, without needing to be modified or confused, and appear as meditation. The sameness and after-effects are mixed all around, but there is confusion of signs. This is called the yoga of the great path of meditation. As it is said, previously appearances and mind have been mixed into one taste, and as
