With regard to meditation that is like not being moved by fire and wind, definite understanding and joy arise. One does not feel the existence of the body. Attachment to worldly affairs diminishes. The highs and lows of experience become very great. Sometimes arrogance arises, thinking, "Who is better than me?" Sometimes, when consciousness is separated from moisture, weariness arises, thinking, "I have no meditation." Sometimes compassion arises for sentient beings, and empty boasting arises, thinking, "There is no such thing as becoming a Buddha or wandering in samsara." If one analyzes clear appearances with sharp awareness, many visions will occur. If one takes these visions as divine pronouncements and prophecies, it will be a great mistake, because there are many deceivers. If the equipoise of this meditation hits the essential point, the five sense consciousnesses will directly go into latency, so one will not be distracted by external sounds, objects, and so forth (p. 498). However, if one follows the Paramita Vehicle, from the three pure grounds, the five sense consciousnesses will undergo a transformation, so that one will have power over pure buddhafields. It is said that at the time of purification, the wisdom of accomplishing activities will arise. Although this itself is not real, from the point of view that the mind is not distracted by objects, one should know that it is so named. That is to say, the one on the path of accumulation will understand, the one on the path of joining will experience, and the one on the path of seeing will realize. This is called combining understanding, experience, and realization. The lama is the essence, the goddess is the mind's holding, the bodhisattva is meditation, and the Buddha is realization. If one analyzes this, I realize that there are special differences. Therefore, up to this point, this is placed on the path of ordinary beings, because there is no superior seeing. So no matter how good the nature of the vow is, it is only an experience. Even if clairvoyance and signs of accomplishment arise due to the interdependence of the channels and essences, one should not be conceited. Even so, in this degenerate age, it is difficult to find someone who has completed this path. Even when a few diligent people appear, the spiritual friends (p. 499) introduce realization as a mixture of day and night, like a blind person leading a blind person, wasting their lives on a demon-possessed person who opposes empty meditation targets and experiences, without any hope of generating qualities. Some, because they have not hit the essential point of meditation, have a vague hope for unpredicted things, saying, "What is this? What is that?" Like a speaking wise one, they think they have realized as much as I have.

Who has it? The self-reckoning arises, thinking, "The action of not meditating is also this," and pure appearances never arise to the superior realm, etc. Being separated from the mind that discerns, one goes to a very dangerous place of error, and destroys all the teachings of the infallible cause and effect of dependent origination. It does not go beyond merely being good empty and evil empty, so considering this principle, like the advice given by the Great Orgyen to the king, one should learn not to let the view stray into practice, and not to let practice stray into view, and rely on a venerable lama who has experience like one's eyes. With supplication and devotion, one should repeatedly receive the four empowerments. Just as iron is refined, it is very important to make a very firm (500) distinction. According to the Paramita Vehicle, this is the nature of the wisdom of the four aspects of the decisive division of the path of joining, in which the five faculties are meditated on in the two heats and peaks, and the five powers are meditated on in the two patiences and dharmas. The aspect of equipoise is the non-conceptual wisdom, and the aspect of subsequent attainment is the wisdom with and without concepts, as appropriate. Relying on the four antidotes, the seeds of the obscurations to be abandoned are weakened, so the difference in realization is the realization of the two selflessnesses of the wisdom born of meditation. The difference in qualities is that one possesses many qualities such as the divine eye and clairvoyance. From the great accumulation path, this wisdom is stable in heat, so the path of seeing is near. In the Great Commentary on the Eight Thousand Verses, it says, "If there are no obstacles, the path of seeing will occur very near," and it should be known that this is the characteristic of this that is in accordance with the part of liberation. Thus it is said. Such a transformation of the path of joining is worthy of praise. Second, since it shows that it is the same as the path of seeing of the Paramitas, it is named that way. The yoga of the path of seeing has three types: great, medium, and small. First, the small yoga. It says in that very text: "The abbot himself and those who have broken their vows, after expelling those places (501) from the country, realizing that there is no mind, emptiness, and stainlessness like the sky, that is called the small yoga of the path of seeing." Therefore, if one recognizes that the previous single-pulse yoga is profound, the understanding is dry, and the path is wrong, and one makes a key point of meditating with false pretense, then by the power of one's own devotion and the guru yoga, just like hammering with a hammer, or not for the sake of loosely seeking food, but at this time, from the depths of one's heart, like a lion wandering in the mountains, one should wander through the charnel ground.
