Apart from the vajra throne of the Buddha and the mother's womb, it can enter anywhere without hindrance and is very calm. Here, the vajra throne of India is generally considered the supreme place where all the Buddhas of the Fortunate Aeon (444) commonly demonstrate the act of enlightenment, but in reality, it is also the activity place of most impure and pure beings. If the intermediate state being has a miraculous body that can instantly reach anywhere it wishes, then what obstruction would there be for it there? If one says it is because of bad karma, then nowadays groups of heretics and barbarians can also wander without hesitation, so there is no cause or condition for obstruction for that mind-body. Therefore, by the power of possessing a pure place, it abides in the place of liberation. By the power of karma, it abides in the mother's womb, so the identification of these two places should be understood in this way, that is, the victorious one liberated from the lotus. Regarding this, some teachers identify the vajra throne as that place in India. However, here, we consider the vajra throne to be the original purity, the unchanging inner space, the supreme place where all Buddhas attain enlightenment, the place of entering the gate of pure nirvana. And the mother's womb is considered the impure gate of samsara, the birthplace of beings in the six realms (445). Therefore, it should be understood that this is not literal. Furthermore, through this reasoning, it can be understood that the intermediate state being has the ability to enter anything without hindrance, including mountains and rocks, etc. Therefore, beings can also be seen in the interior of rocks, inside caves, in eggs, and in the hollows of trees. If the (intermediate state being) has a physical body and complete senses, then this would contradict the mind-body, because the (intermediate state being) would appear like a dream, seeming to exist in its own place, but this is merely a supposition. As (the scripture) says: 'The previously existing physical body, with complete senses and without hindrance, is seen by those with the same kind or divine eye, and is unstoppable, it is a Gandharva.' That is, only those of the same kind as oneself or those who have attained the divine eye can see it, while others cannot see it. But it can see all the states of existence of beings. Since the body composed of the four elements (446) is driven by the wind, it cannot remain stable anywhere, like a feather carried by the wind. Consciousness is blurred, but memory is seven times clearer than before, and one thinks, 'I am dead.'

Intense suffering, just from being unable to bear it, will arise. Moreover, how long must one remain in the bardo? Know that although it appears that the first half has the form of the previous body, and the latter half has the body and appearance of where one will be born, since the upper realm has no form, if no form can appear, the appearance of emptiness, where there is nothing, will arise. Also, having entered the door of secret mantra, due to breaking the great samaya to the vajra master, one will fall into the vajra hells and so on, and due to the karma of abandoning the Dharma, one will be born in Avici, which is like a direct passage downward like butter; liberation through realization is like a direct passage upward; due to mastering transference, there is a direct passage through any birthplace, so there is no bardo. Other beings who have not seen the door of this Dharma, or even if they have seen it, do not believe (447), or whose samaya is impure, or who have not practiced it thoroughly, for these people, since the dharmata bardo is short, the opportunity to be liberated has not arisen, and accompanied by fear and dread, they repeatedly wander in the existence bardo. Every seven days, an appearance of birth and death arises, and since it is very painful, the reason why the seven-day offering is also very beneficial is to support the power of virtue. In general, the longest lifespan of the existence bardo is forty-nine days, and the shortest is seven days, which is said in general terms. In addition, there are cases where one suddenly transfers due to the power of virtue, or exists longer than that due to certain karmas, for example, although it is said that a lifespan of one hundred years is a fixed lifespan, there are also untimely deaths in the desire realm, and there are also cases where one lives long by accomplishing essence extraction. In any case, at that time, just as a cripple uses a crutch, with the miraculous power to arrive at the place one thinks of in an instant, at that time, those who have seen the door of this Dharma, at the moment of recognizing the consciousness of the intermediate state, should remember the pure lands manifested in the ten directions, and strongly wish to go there, so that the habitual tendencies of clinging at will in the existence bardo, and the blessings of the truth of dharmata entering the continuum, will exhaust the power to pass on to the next existence, and one will be born in that pure land and attain enlightenment. Also, even if one has not seen the truth of the door of this Dharma, one may still be accustomed to the illusory body of a great yogi, Shantipa, who has the eye of Dharma, said:
