The finest barley should be smooth, even, and white in color, placed in the white direction where virtuous practitioners reside, untouched by hostile forces. It should be well-arranged in the center of the mandala, with offerings displayed according to the ritual instructions, or based on medicine, alcohol, and torma. Thus, perform the preliminary, main, and subsequent practices. The first of the preliminaries is taking refuge: Namo! Limitless samsara is the nature of suffering, and all sentient beings, including myself, are helplessly driven by it. I take refuge in the supreme compassion of the noble ones, the essence of the Three Jewels. (357) Om! From the depths of my heart, with intense devotion, I take refuge. Recite three times. The second is generating bodhicitta: Ho! All beings of the six realms, our parents, are objects of compassion, engaging in deluded actions without recognizing their true nature. With immeasurable compassion, to establish the path to enlightenment, I generate the supreme mind of aspiration, engagement, and ultimate reality. Recite three times. The third is the seven-branch prayer: Ho! Before all the refuge places abiding in the three times, I prostrate with reverence, offer outer and inner offerings, confess all negative actions and obscurations, rejoice in virtuous deeds, request the turning of the Dharma wheel, beseech them to remain, and dedicate the merit to enlightenment. May all beings attain the state of (358) the noble ones. The fourth is blessing the obstacle-dispelling torma with Om Ah Hum: Hrih! I am the embodiment of Padma Wang (Powerful Lotus), the great wrathful one who subdues perverse influences. Listen, all obstacles and perverse ones, partake of this desirable torma, and depart to the far shore of the great ocean. If you transgress the command, I shall shatter your heads with a vajra hammer. Therefore, do not disobey the command! Recite the mantra of the four Hums. The fifth is the protection circle: Hrih! All phenomena are within a vajra tent, the nature of the three realms of container, contents, and mandala. The demonic forces of habitual confusion are cut off within the three kayas. Vajra Raksha Raksha Jvala Hum Phat! The sixth is invoking blessings: Hum! From the expanse of emptiness, the play of compassion arises, like dense rain clouds gathering in the unobstructed sky. By blessing all substances of conventional appearance, they become the great mandala of primordial purity. Om Jnana Vajra Aveshaya Phe Phe Sarva Samaya Ja! The seventh is blessing the offering substances: Om Ah Hum! All outer, inner, and secret offering substances, outwardly appearing as objects, inwardly being the great nectar of wisdom, possessing the splendor of a hundred flavors, may they become a source of delight for the mandala deities. (359) Om! Om Vajra Argham to Shabda, and Sarva Pancha Rakta Bhalinta Maha Sukha Puja Ah Hum!

Bless with three (times). Second, the main part has seven categories. First, the generation of the support and the supported is: HRIH (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Chinese literal meaning: shame) All dharmas are without object, without basis, without root, and the union of space and wisdom is the great pure realm. The self-appearing spontaneously accomplished Mount Potala, in the center of the mandala that is complete with signs, symbols, and characteristics, above the various thousand-petaled lotus sun and moon, from HRIH (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Chinese literal meaning: shame), oneself is the noble Lord of Compassion, the body of Avalokiteśvara, the self-liberation of suffering, standing in an equal posture with one face and four arms. The two root hands are joined in a gesture of reverence at the heart. The remaining two hands hold a rosary and a white lotus. The complete enjoyment body is adorned with silk and jewels, possessing white and red radiance, adorned with bone ornaments, beautiful with nine peaceful aspects and thirteen ornaments, the same hand gesture as Khasarpaṇi. The crown of the head is marked by the lord of the family, Amitābha. On the lotus seat with four petals in the four directions, in the east is the noble Tara, her body color white, in the south is the Light-emitting Mother, her body color gold, in the west (360) is Kurukulle, the color of a lotus, in the north is the Goddess of Wealth, her body color green, all complete with their own ornaments and attire. At the four gates are the four great powerful ones, wielding a hooked knife and holding a skull cup, in a throwing posture, fierce and terrifying, complete with wrathful attire, dancing in a blaze of fire. In the intermediate spaces are Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Vidyadharas, heroes, Ḍākinīs, and oath-bound ones, densely packed like clouds, appearing in the space free from appearance and emptiness, and obscurations. All are marked with the three syllables in the three places. From these, light radiates, the supreme place of self-nature, and especially the emanation realm of Mount Potala, the twenty-four sacred places, the eight great charnel grounds, etc., the assembly of wisdom deities, Vajrasamādhi. Second, the invocation is: HRIH (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Chinese literal meaning: shame) From the palace of bliss in the western direction, please come, Protector Amitābha. From the emanation realm of Mount Potala, please come, Avalokiteśvara, who tames beings. From the palace that tames beings with compassion, please come, all the deities of the mandala. Please bless us practitioners, please grant us supreme and common accomplishments. (361) OM (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Om) Lokīśvara Guru Deva Ḍākinī Sarva Samaya Jaja. Third, the request to be seated is: HRIH (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Chinese literal meaning: shame) Like the mandala of compassion that is aimless and self-liberated, although there is no attachment to descending, coming, and abiding, in order to purify the defilements of dualistic appearance,
