It transcends the realm of the mind. As it is said in the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra: "When neither reality nor unreality remains before the mind, then, without any other aspect, objectlessness is utterly pacified." So it is said. Some believe that the consequentialist Madhyamaka view held by Nāgārjuna and his spiritual sons is a coarse, outer Madhyamaka, done temporarily to refute conventionalities. The other-emptiness, the subtle, inner Madhyamaka held by Asaṅga is ultimate, so conventionalists compete with each other, claiming that the latter is far superior to the former. If it does not exceed the limits of wisdom, then holding it as it is will only be an imputation of permanence that does not measure the sphere of the meaning of the precious teachings. Why is that? Because, from the point of view of being free from the proliferation of tenets established by knowable and knowing, both great chariots do not accept non-conceptual wisdom. The Paṇḍita of Bengal said: "The teacher, the noble Asaṅga, in reality, does not accept the wisdom that is non-dual, nor does he accept the subsequent attainment after attaining non-conceptual wisdom, because he has attained mastery over the three grounds and has understood that all phenomena are unborn." So it is said. Beyond the realm of one (321) and many dharmadhātu, therefore, the teacher, the noble one, said: "If there is a little non-emptiness, then there will be a little emptiness. If there is no non-emptiness, how can emptiness be accomplished?" And, "In equanimity and non-equanimity, where all these are absent, abandoning reality and unreality, the teacher shows it to be union." So it is said. Some people have doubts about this being a nihilistic view, which is a fault of coarse intelligence. Because depending on existence, there will be non-existence; depending on permanence, there will be cessation. If this method transcends all of that, then what fault is there? If the nature of suchness of the dharmadhātu is such that the qualities of the Victorious One are spontaneously accomplished without effort, or if it is established as the ultimate object to be attained, that is also fine. However, in order to manifest it, is the non-conceptual view reasonable? Is meditating on existence reasonable? If it is the former, then it does not go beyond what was just said; if it is the latter, then the scope of investigation is large, because most meditators and yogis are in danger of falling into errors in the method of practice. If the cause of equanimity is like the former,

If someone says that in the post-attainment stage, one must believe that there is a physical body and wisdom (322), but it seems necessary to examine it. Is the wisdom body of the fruition stage naturally and spontaneously accomplished from the beginning? Or is it believed to arise from the causes and conditions of the object of focus during the path stage? If according to the latter, then it is acceptable to say so. If it is determined to be the former, then it can be affirmed that merely practicing the view and meditation of non-objectification will ultimately not lead to fruition. Even if one does not contemplate that wisdom exists with the disturbance of conceptual thoughts in the mind, it is not considered to be a fault. Therefore, I think it is better to cultivate the correct path than to cling to the extremes of permanence and annihilation. Here it is said, then is the view of the consequentialist not the fruit of the pure foundation of the path? In response to that, it is explained: Is it appropriate to speak recklessly without examining the beautiful face? Is the wisdom of the Buddha's knowledge of reality the fruit? If not, then there seems to be a doubt of such error. If it is the opposite of that, from the perspective of the view, the attachment to the existence or non-existence of the Buddha or wisdom, and the absence of terms, as stated in the "Collected Sutras": "Whatever exists is not existent, and is called non-existent. Children examine it and cling to existence and non-existence. These two, existence and non-existence, are of the nature of non-existence. This is the supreme practice of the Perfection of Wisdom (323)." And also: "How the guide does not abide in the unconditioned realm, and likewise does not abide in the conditioned, acting in non-abiding. Thus, the Bodhisattva abides in the abode without abiding, non-abiding is abiding, this is said to be the abode of the Victorious Ones." Therefore, the view of the consequentialist is the fruit, and it is only worthy of examination. If there is no one more authoritative than the perfectly enlightened Buddha in this regard, then to whom should we boast? Even if one's self-righteous wisdom is sharp, refuting the treatises of the noble teachers is like trying to grasp the sky with one's hands, which will ultimately be in vain. The merits of this view will be widely proclaimed during the Great Perfection Trekchö, which is beyond the common path of the lower tantras. It is necessary to unite skillful means and wisdom, as explained by wisdom and so on. After fully understanding such wisdom, combining it with great compassion, which is the aspect of skillful means, one will attain liberation. If there is no wisdom of true insight, relying solely on one-sided skillful means will
