Now, the verdant forests hang with vines, the pleasant sound of the water's edge is like the flow of a mountain stream, as melodious as a drum, proclaiming that this is not a place of karma and delusion. Thus it is said. Thereafter, the actual explanation of meditative absorption is stabilized by words such as "where." Wherever one goes, meditative absorption is extremely unwavering, and it is explained that the characteristic of the superior training of the mind is that all dharmas arise dependently, so first, the bodily posture is: the seven-point posture of Vairochana is easy to understand; with the life-force of the mind, focus on a single object, not dualistic grasping, diligently practice meditative equipoise, and with any suitable grasping analysis, completely bind the consciousness of the mind to the meaning of virtue and meditate. When does meditative absorption mature? All appearances of elaboration dissolve into the realm of the emptiness of dharmata, and although the realm of appearance is clear like a moon in water without ceasing, there is no grasping conceptualization in it. This is placing the consciousness in the equality of non-conceptualizing objects. After the realization of the unity of emptiness and clarity of the essence, the wisdom that individually distinguishes is vipashyana. The method for beginners to practice shamatha and vipashyana comes from the Noble Samadhiraja Sutra: 'Like a body with the luster of gold, the protector of the world is all beautiful, whoever focuses their mind on that object, that Bodhisattva is called meditative equipoise.' Thus, by focusing on the qualities of the marks and signs of the Buddha with one-pointedness, not only is it a cause for accomplishing shamatha, but it is also known that one can obtain inconceivable benefits. Classification is explained by words such as "classification if a child": classification if a child, skillfully distinguishing the meaning of the proximate cause, the Tathagata's virtuous meditative absorption, that is, three types. With the distinction of whether or not there is investigation, it is divided into the four dhyanas of the fourfold division. Likewise, there are the four formless (253) absorptions, totaling eleven types. The meditative absorption in the continuum of ordinary beings who have not entered the path is the four dhyanas and the four formless absorptions, because it is the path by which children enter. The meditative absorption of the path of joining and accumulation that have entered the path gradually manifests the path of liberation, therefore it is known as the meaning of mastery. Before the first bhumi of the path of seeing, the meditative absorption of the noble ones.

It is, because there is no leakage, therefore it is the Tathagata's virtue. The characteristics and features are indicated by "all" and so on. The essence of all these is to hold the mind single-pointedly inward, and the cause of accomplishment is that the diligent one continuously cultivates mindfulness without interruption. If distracted, one focuses on it again, which is the characteristic. Its function is to generate worldly and transcendental bliss, to accomplish whatever kind of magical power one desires, and to obtain fruits such as the six kinds of supernormal cognition, which is the feature. The actual basis of worldly and transcendental samadhi is indicated by "samadhi" and so on. That is, the samadhi in the desire realm with more vipassana, the samadhi in the formless realm with more samatha, and the samadhi in the form realm with the union of samatha and vipassana. The latter is divided into four categories. The preliminary stage of the first dhyana, that is, the preparation stage, is the mind of combination, which distinguishes any experience of bliss, clarity, and non-discrimination as "this is it" and merely contemplates its nature. When it matures, there is no distinction in the actual stage, only contemplation. The remaining three are respectively: having distinction but no contemplation, having contemplation but no distinction, and having neither distinction nor contemplation. Among them, coarse distinction is distinction, and subtle grasping and contemplation is contemplation. Starting from the earlier dhyana, each successively serves as the preliminary stage of the later dhyana, which is known as the foundation of the noble path. Then, the four dhyanas have eighteen branches. The first has five branches, namely: distinction, contemplation, joy, bliss, and single-pointedness of mind. The second has four branches, namely: joy, bliss, inner (255) purity, and single-pointedness of mind. The third also has five branches, namely: equanimity, mindfulness, awareness, bliss, and single-pointedness of mind. The fourth also has four branches, namely: pure equanimity, pure mindfulness, pure feeling of neither pleasure nor pain, and single-pointedness of mind. Worldly
