Arrows, etc., castles, umbrellas, weapons, swords, enemy instruments, arrows, wearing armor, etc., not to mention twenty-six. There are three ways to practice: stand and excrete urine and feces, do not excrete water, strength, urine and feces, and snot. Climbing to the height of a tree, there is only one reason. Thus, adding to the previous ones, there are a total of two hundred and fifty-three items. Among them, there are three hundred and sixty-four for Bhikshunis. The four roots of each are: the same as the Bhikshu, and on top of that, touching a man, twisting the body, hiding, and preventing, adding these eight are Parajika. The gross sins are the same as the Bhikshu, and there are also differences. The rough classification is, in the previous Vinaya Sutra, it is said: Bhikshunis have eight Parajikas, twenty Sanghavasesa, thirty-three Nissaggiya Pacittiya, one hundred and eighty Pacittiya, eleven Patidesaniya, one hundred and twelve Dukkata, a total of three hundred and sixty-four. Such and so on. Among them, any one of the eight Parajikas will abandon the precepts like uprooting a tree. From now on, the boundary of whether the precepts can be restored through repentance lies in whether the thought of hiding faults arises. Thus, for the precepts that have been established and not established, one should understand them with the mind. For the antidotes such as holding precepts and asceticism, if one cannot fully understand them, one will show faults, that is, the so-called "guarding" and so on. Nowadays, there are some people here who do not even understand about ten kinds of guarding, but boast of being followers of the Buddha and guardians of the precepts, which is ridiculous. If you cannot guard, what is the use of just knowing? Even so, in general, the reason for wandering in samsara is ignorance. Here, just knowing the cause and effect and the consequences of transgressions can prevent falling, and even if one falls, it is easy to restore and confess sins. Such knowledge, even the first of the four doors of arising transgressions, "not knowing," is not understood, which is the view of Asanga. The four doors are: not knowing the difference between whether it is a transgression or not, not respecting the training, negligence, and having strong afflictions. What is learned in practice, the seventeen things in the Vinaya Sutra that are the basis of the three trainings.

The means of purifying the essence of discipline from what is said (221): Posadha, Vassa, and Pravarana, these three fundamental rituals were selected and compiled from the sutras by Khenchen Dharmashri, like a great ship sailing to the continent of liberation. The twelve main qualities of its main branches are: residing in a monastery, residing in a charnel ground, begging for alms, eating one meal, always sitting upright, not taking food again after eating, holding three Dharma robes, wearing felt clothes, dwelling as it is, dwelling in a cemetery, dwelling under a tree, and dwelling without a roof. Now, in order to show the incidental and suggestive congruities, it is said, "Here," and so on. In this treatise, except for the seventeen Parajikas and Sanghavasesas, if one needs to enjoy other impermissible things, one should bless them. If one needs to eat food at an improper time, one should aspire to eat it in the northern part of one's residence, that is, in a place where the sound is unpleasant. Why? Because in general, there are four kinds of discipline: natural discipline, Dharma discipline, ethical discipline, and renunciate discipline. Those with unpleasant sounds have the first discipline. Similarly, if one needs to take an extra bath, one should think of oneself as a patient; if one needs to wear extra clothes, or wear white clothes that are not in accordance with the rules; if one needs to cover inappropriate items such as leather, one should feel distressed because of poverty and think that this is allowed for the sake of protecting life. If one needs to touch or possess precious jewels, one should contemplate that this is allowed for the sake of offering to the Three Jewels and saving sentient beings. Apart from that, things that are neither allowed nor forbidden should be regarded as conforming to both sides' views. As it is said in the Determination of the Three Vows: "In short, there is originally no permission or prohibition. If what is feasible and what is inappropriate contradict each other, then one should practice what is feasible and stay away from what is inappropriate. If what is feasible contradicts each other, then one should abandon everything." Like this. In order to summarize, it is said, "Everything," and so on. Sarvastivada, Mahasamghika, Sthavira, and Mahasanghika, among these four schools, the first is the descendant of King Rahula of the royal family. The seven schools that branched out from this school are: Sarvastivada, Kasyapiya, Dharmagupta, and Multi-

The Sarvastivada. The Mahasamghika. The Red Robe Sect. The Vibhajyavada, etc., are seven sects in total. The second is: the lineage of the Brahmin caste, the Great Kasyapa, from which five sects branched out: the Eastern Mountain Sect, the Western Mountain Sect, (223) the Snow Mountain Sect, the Sautrantika Sect, and the Lokottaravada Sect. The third is: the lineage of Katyayana, the reed craftsman caste, from which three sects branched out: the sect residing in the Victorious Grove, the sect residing on the Fearless Mountain, and the sect residing in the Temple. The fourth is: the lineage of Upali, the potter caste, from which three sects branched out: the Earth Lock Caste Sect, the Protection Sect, and the Sthavira Sect. In total, there are eighteen Sravaka sects. What is propagated in Tibet is the Sarvastivada. Although the forms of discipline of the four sects are different, they are all related to the conduct of the five kinds of ordained Sangha. Since it is impossible to go beyond the Teacher's regulations, they are organized like the dream omen of Krki. Therefore, it is very important to obtain the authority of all the precepts and strive to protect them. So, how can one obtain the benefits of such protection? The Teacher Hero said: Divine objects, joy, human enjoyment, supreme bliss, delicious taste, heavenly perfect abundance, what is so amazing about what is born of morality? Look to the Buddhas and Dharma (224) that arise from it. It is like this. In particular, in the time when the teachings flourished, protecting all the precepts is more beneficial than protecting one precept for a day now. The Samadhiraja Sutra says: In billions of kalpas, as many as the sands of the Ganges, with the initial intention, with food and drink, umbrellas, banners, and garlands of lamps, I have served billions of Buddhas. If someone, when the Dharma is declining and the Tathagata's teachings are about to perish, practices one precept day and night, the merit is far superior to the former. Here, I recognize that the only lamp for sentient beings, his kindness cannot be repaid, so when the initial realm fills the breath, and when such a thought suddenly arises, in order to make what is said meaningful, I said: Bhagavan, the all-knowing Shakyamuni.
