From that which is born above, there are twelve things to be abandoned, namely, six root dharmas and six corresponding dharmas. The first is: Sāgilā, one should not go alone on the road, one should not swim across the river, one should not touch a man, one should not sit with him, one should not hide faults, one should not become a matchmaker. These are the six root dharmas, which are spoken to the bhikkhunīs. Thus. The second is: From that very text: Accepting sālisambra, and the hair of the secret place, and smearing the earth (212), and cutting blue grass and so on, and eating without being given, and eating after storing, and that which is called "reversal," the other six corresponding ones are considered dharmas. What should be guarded in common is: except for the seven faultless ones, it is the same as the bhikkhunīs' precepts. The seven faultless ones are: holding, separating, touching fire, taking, eating, destroying seeds, in places where there is blue grass, discarding impure things, and climbing trees. The antidotes to those that should be abandoned, because women's afflictions are great, it is very important to examine whether they can endure for two years or so. For monks, unchaste conduct, killing, taking what is not given, lying, these are the root defeats, the four that are common with śrāmaṇeras. The meaning of "remainder" is: if any of the thirteen that are to be explained occur, then with bedding, food, etc., after the elder, the middle, and the younger, using as remainder, therefore it is sanghāvaśeṣa. Abiding below the rank and using the remainder of food and drink, therefore it is so called. Elsewhere, this is the remainder of the vows, therefore it is called remainder (213), it is also said. What is the essence? Clinging to the three vows, known as the thirteen sanghāvaśeṣas. Ejaculating semen in a place that is not for intercourse, grasping a woman's body part with attachment, speaking obscene words nakedly, honoring because of lust for women, men and women gathering and meeting by acting as matchmakers for each other, building excessive houses and large houses for one's own benefit, relying on baseless topics and slight excuses, slandering monks, dividing the sangha, following that division, violating the precepts, when exposing family faults, blaming the expeller, when urging confession, not listening to the teachings.

It is unpleasant. Thus it is said. These are five attachments to sentient beings within, two attachments to external objects, seven arising from desire, two arising from harm, and four arising from instruction, totaling thirteen. In expiation, each category of robes, mats, bowls, etc., is divided into groups of ten, totaling thirty. It is said therein: retaining one's own extra robes for more than ten days; being separated from the monastic robe for more than one day; storing cloth for more than one month; and for nuns, allowing the washing of monastic robes and taking cloth from them; begging for cloth from non-relatives among householders; if giving, taking excessive upper or lower garments; considering the value of monastic robes for oneself; begging, examining, remembering, and urging with price and measurement; accepting the value of robes sent in exchange for precious items. Making mats with silk and wool mixed; when scarce, laying down only black wool as a mat; making mats with two parts black wool, making new mats before six years have passed, and for standard mats, even if already laid down, if remaking, after obtaining black wool, it can only be used up to three yojanas (leagues) away on the road. For nuns, allowing the washing and milling of wool; accepting gold and silver, and engaging in commercial activities with obvious signs; engaging in commercial activities specifically, bowls not blessed; holding for more than ten days, holding two bowls; allowing weaving without payment, expanding the scope of weaving; taking back robes given by monks, and robes obtained through deception; claiming ownership earlier than the time stated at the time of giving; in monasteries, being separated from robes for more than seven days with fear; even if the covering and separation of large cloths have been completed, half a month has passed; appropriating the possessions dedicated to the Sangha; storing medicine for more than seven days. Therefore, if one is touched by the fault of abandonment and does not repent, one will fall into the lower realms, so it is said. There are exactly ninety (215) expiations alone. In the earlier Vinaya, it is said: knowingly speaking falsehoods, speaking of the faults of monks, using divisive speech to separate close ones, even sadness is dug up to separate, teaching the Dharma to women who have not taken full ordination, reciting scriptures together, accepting bad dwellings, speaking of transgressions, mocking virtuous teachers and truthful spiritual friends, despising the training, cutting off seeds and life, mocking oneself, not heeding instructions, answering other matters without listening to the confessed transgressions, using beds and seats without tidying up, expelling monks, and suppressing the status of the Sangha.
