Thus it is said. The branch of generosity, with the four ultimate foundations, thoughts, and unions, is the complete real resources, and the unparalleled, mind-emanated, supreme cloud of offerings that even they cannot represent, is like envying the merits of the sublime Samantabhadra's offering. Another (page 175) supreme offering is: as stated in the "Akashagarbha Sutra," generating the mind of Bodhi, upholding the sacred Dharma, meditating on compassion for sentient beings, and practicing the Dharma are the four. How is that offering accomplished? Because there is no method superior to pleasing the Buddhas. The third is the branch of confessing sins, such as saying "falsehood," etc. The six doors of those sins are: the three poisons are the instigators, and body, speech, and mind are the actors, but in terms of the main aspect, the mouth is the door of sin, so it is truly declared as such, such as lying, diligently engaging in the four non-virtuous deeds of speech, and the mind is inherently poisonous, so all the accumulated habits, sins, and obscurations fear virtuous deeds and flee elsewhere, transforming into beings without bodies. Concealing themselves in the darkness of existence, that is, the extremely dense abyss of ignorance and delusion, all engage in non-virtuous deeds. From those deeds, they feel much regret and aversion, and even while engaging in non-virtuous deeds, they diligently engage in the antidote of virtuous deeds and constantly practice them. Taking (page 176) the true precepts, obtaining the precepts of not committing sins and guarding them, taking refuge in the Three Jewels of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and not abandoning the mind of Bodhi, with the support, that is, the blazing sunlight of the four powers, they purify and confess. The fourth is the branch of rejoicing, as shown by "union," etc. Abiding in the three doors as they are, with whatever union does not disturb one's own nature, one takes joy in doing good for others, and with the distinction of a single joyful intention, the behavior of a thief who momentarily steals the accumulation of pure merit of other beings is done only by rejoicing. There is no stealing and yet merit is obtained, so it is said to be stealing, which is used as a rhetorical ornament of a comparable staff. Fifth, the branch of requesting the turning of the wheel of Dharma:
