Not biased towards others, treating enemies and friends equally, without arrogance, in order to generate profound and peaceful realization, without ignorance, freely possessing the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu, and being able to directly attain the Dharmakaya. The conclusion of this section is, saying "Thus" and so on. The qualities of these four immeasurables are unfailing because the cause and effect are extremely vast. Not relying on other wrong paths that have not been realized, wrong views, and sectarian views, the first two are the cause of existence, and the latter may be liberated from it, but because emptiness and compassion are contradictory, they do not rely on them. In order to pacify those afflictions, one should practice this supreme path of the immaculate liberation of the noble sons. This is the concluding word of "should practice." This is the commentary on the seventh chapter of the Treasury of Precious Qualities. Now, in order to mainly show the nature of entering—the meaning of generating Bodhicitta, it says "Obtaining" and so on. For example, just as one specially gives the best offerings in order to obtain something, the fruit obtained by the four immeasurables is the precious Bodhicitta, and through the illusory means of the chariot of aspiration and entry, it can destroy the evil views of the peaceful Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. In order to generate joy, it says sins, suffering, and so on. Here, those who are disturbed by the fierce waves of sins and suffering, and are bound in the prison of Samsara, at the moment of generating Bodhicitta, are able to obtain the title praised as the son of the Victorious One, and are very happy about it, and are even respected by the gods and humans of the world. The opposite of this is shown by karma and afflictions, and so on. From the huge cloud of darkness of karma and afflictions thickly gathered, not staying even for a moment, like a fierce flash of lightning, the virtuous deeds separated from the Three Jewels, even if practiced slightly occasionally, are not continuous, so the person who only has merit, like a tree by the water, is deceived by the fruit, thus damaging the root. Generating joy through metaphors is indicated by "earth" and so on. Just like the earth

In the field taught by the Well-gone One, just as planting any kind of virtuous crop will yield abundant fruit, the Bodhi tree born in the realm of sentient beings, as long as it exists, will be the fruit of the accumulation of virtue, gathering both samsara and nirvana, and will grow until the state of perfect peace and omniscience. It is also the main factor for liberation from samsara, as indicated by "karma and afflictions," etc. What is it that accumulates karma and afflictions and becomes a vessel for suffering or misery? It is the deep and vast ocean of samsara, unfathomable, filled with the waves of conceptual thought, which sentient beings regard as their home. The method or great courage to quickly escape from the jaws of the vicious crocodile that cannot be guarded against is only the generation of Bodhicitta. As it is said in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: "Those who wish to destroy hundreds of sufferings of existence, who wish to dispel the unhappiness of sentient beings, and who also wish to constantly enjoy limitless happiness, should not abandon the mind of enlightenment." As it is said. Furthermore, in order to show its characteristics, it is said, "To whom," etc. "To whom" refers to those who do not have even a trace of self-interest in their minds, but like the hungry who crave food and the thirsty who crave water, they seek the state of omniscient Buddhahood for the sole benefit of sentient beings, and this is known as Bodhicitta. In order to show the nature of the generation of the mind, and the difference between the wishing mind and the engaging mind, it is said, "That also," etc. Among them, promising the fruit is the wishing Bodhicitta. How does one promise? One thinks, "For the benefit of sentient beings, I will attain Buddhahood." Its training is: the idea of wanting to obtain happiness and abandon suffering is the same for oneself and others, therefore dedicating the merit together, and exchanging the giving of happiness to others and taking on suffering oneself, and for the sake of sentient beings, even if experiencing the suffering of the flames of hell, thinking, "Why can't I endure it?" Turning self-cherishing into cherishing others, it is divided into three types. The word "also" implies that there are other types as well. Thus, it is the essence of the meaning of all the sutras that extensively teach all the places of training, therefore its essence is the four immeasurables such as loving-kindness.
