Having arrived there, a frog asked him where he came from, and he said he came from the great ocean. The frog thought that nothing could be greater than the well (95) he lived in, so he showed him about a third of the well and asked if the ocean was this big. He said it was bigger than that. He then estimated and showed about half, and so on, and finally said that even if there were many wells like this, they could not compare to the ocean, and the frog was ashamed, as stated in "The Medicine for Living Beings." Because of unfamiliarity with the doctrines of the sutras and tantras, little hearing and thought, and not knowing what to accept and reject, the vows and commitments are broken, and the three doors of body, speech, and mind become mundane. Instead of reflecting on their own low capacity, they wear gorgeous clothes and ornaments, and their behavior is arrogant and haughty, pursuing high positions. For sentient beings, the ropes of the four immeasurable minds, such as love and compassion, are broken, and evil friends who are like crazy guides will cause sin to increase even more. In particular, if we emphasize and summarize, if one does not have more qualities than the other in any of the three trainings, and if one relies on and associates with those who are devoid of bodhicitta, merely trusting in the power of fame and influence in this life, then it is very wrong. For example, if a blind person is entrusted to be a captain, it would be a huge mistake (96), like sinking into the ocean or falling off a cliff. Associating with pretense without examination will lead to constant wandering in the dark abyss, the wilderness of samsara. Therefore, if the sacred field of merit for the ultimate destination is not carefully examined, the virtuous deeds of believers will be wasted. The so-called "leisure is difficult to obtain" is only obtained now, but in reality, it is difficult to obtain, and one will be deceived like mistaking a poisonous snake for the shade of a tree. It is said that in the past, a person who did not examine carefully walked at night and mistook a poisonous snake lying on the road for the shade of a tree, and rested on it, and was bitten by the snake. This story is related. Relying on a truly noble person is like obtaining great wealth. If you want to know how to understand this, it can be explained by "all" and so on. The lama who possesses all the qualities taught in the sutras and tantras is the same essence of the wisdom of all Buddhas and the realm of compassionate love.

In order to subdue, generally speaking, appearing in the form of a man, as it is said in the scriptures: "The Buddhas and their sons, for the sake of those to be tamed, show forms that are in accordance with them." As it is said, it is the source of all accomplishments or the supreme root. The actions are uncertain, as it is said, "guiding," etc. Temporarily, in order to guide those to be tamed, it is in accordance with all actions and positions, but ultimately, one is rich in many qualities and only focuses on benefiting others, so it is contrary to everyone's position. Showing the way in a suitable manner is definitely meaningful, so it surpasses all those who are unenlightened, wrongly enlightened, and only slightly understand. One is skilled in cutting off doubts about the knowledge of the true nature of things, and can endure the fatigue of asceticism wrongly established by others, such praise is in accordance with the meaning of the example, such as "existence," etc. As stated in the *Ratnakuta Sutra*, it is liberated from the four great oceans of existence, like a great ship; in order to achieve the state of omniscient wisdom, it is a true helmsman who will not go astray; like a great rain of nectar that effortlessly destroys the fire of karma and afflictions; like the sun and moon that dispel the darkness of ignorance; able to lift extremely heavy burdens, supporting with patience, so it is very much like the earth; because it is the source of benefit and happiness, it is like a wish-fulfilling tree; because it possesses the treasure of scriptural and realization teachings, it is like a virtuous vase; because all needs are naturally accomplished, it surpasses the wish-fulfilling jewel, and loves all beings equally, so it is like parents; because it is extensive and rapid, it is like a river of compassion; for the good deeds of others, unchanging joy is like the king of mountains; because greed and hatred have been abandoned for a long time, it is like a cloud of equanimity without conflict. Such a lama is no different from all the Buddhas of the past, present, and future. Even if harmed, it is a path to happiness. If one associates with him, let alone the benefits of being respected. As it is said in the *Bodhicharyavatara*: "Even if harmed, it leads to a state of happiness, I prostrate to the source of happiness." Like such a spiritual friend.
