It should be done like that. As it is said, in the Ornament of Essential Meaning: From the order of transgressions and other faults, first make your own mind weary, and after respectfully listening in front of the object, confess by taking three things and violating three things. Thus it is said. (463) If a fault arises and the remedy is delayed, it will increase day by day, so the antidote to that is to always confess with the hundred-syllable mantra that completes the four powers. In the Ornament of Essential Meaning it says: Meditate on Vajrasattva, recite the hundred-syllable mantra as in the ritual, reciting twenty-one times each time, transgressions etc. will be blessed, and it will not increase, the accomplished ones have said so, and it should be practiced in the session. If you recite a hundred thousand times, you will become the nature of complete purity. Thus it is said. Similarly, with strong remorse, recite the aspiration prayers of the fourteen root downfalls, and also recite the confession texts in large numbers. Furthermore, in order to explain the types of vows in detail, there are two types, common and uncommon, the first is: In the Shanta Tantra it says: Whatever is said to be protected in the Pratimoksha vows, Bodhicitta vows, Action Tantra, Performance Tantra, Yoga Tantra, and the Tantras, are the common vows. Thus it is said. The second is indicated by "difference" and so on. Different from those earlier ones, the three tenets of Sutra, Illusion, and Mind are: In the General Sutra, body, speech (464) and mind, the three Vajras, are the three to be protected, and then the five are: enjoyment, pleasing, not abandoning, to be known, and to be accomplished, divided by the number of divisions into twenty-eight types. The General Sutra says: The protection, enjoyment, pleasing, non-abandonment, and accomplishment of the body, speech, and mind Vajras. Thus it is said. Among them, the root body, speech, and mind vows are divided into outer, inner, and secret, and each one is divided into three, making twenty-seven. The last two lines of the verse show twenty-five, which will be explained below. In the treatise of the Net of Illusion, it is said that there are five root vows and ten branch vows, totaling fifteen. Regarding the root aspect: Do not abandon the Vajra master, serve with respect. That is also said in the Clear Illumination: Common, guiding, vow empowerment, deterioration, restoration, and understanding the continuum of liberation.

As for the teachers of the oral instruction lineage, it is said that there are six types, and in particular, one should mainly focus on the one who has the greatest kindness of Dharma to oneself, and it is necessary to treat them with respect. Furthermore, regarding the king who has power over the country, as well as the uncle, father, mother, and eyes, one should regard them in a way that is superior to one's own heart. Thus it is said. One should not interrupt the practice of the deities' (465) mantras, mudras, and visualization of the body. One should be loving towards all beings who abide on the true path. One should not proclaim the profound meaning of secrets to others. Although there are many different categories of branch vows elsewhere, here they are summarized into two categories. The first category is not abandoning the five poisons. How does one not abandon them? At the time of knowing their own nature as emptiness, one also knows that afflictions are emptiness. Thus, when one is seized by skillful means and wisdom, it is like a peacock eating poison. The proof is, in the root tantra it says: "Ignorance, attachment, hatred, as well as pride and jealousy, one does not abandon." Thus it is said. Since they are originally the nature of the five families, it has already been explained in the stage of generation and completion. Thus, by knowing in such a way or in confusion, it will be transformed into wisdom. The second category is, in the root tantra it says: "White bodhicitta, red bodhicitta, great excrement, great meat, one does not discard the water of a pure vessel." Thus, the two types of white and red bodhicitta, as well as great excrement and great meat, and urine, which are the five great elixirs, are taken with an attitude of mind that is extremely worthy of taking. How does one take them? One takes them knowing that they are the adornment of the great play of dharmata. And one also takes them knowing that they are the nature of the five wisdoms (466) and the five families. Why does one take them? Because they are the samaya substances for accomplishing the two types of siddhis, one takes them. The gathering of heroes and dakinis is a close path to bestowing siddhis, so one takes them. What is the reason? Because it is the supreme conduct taken by all the Buddhas of the three times, one should take them. Regarding this, the number of two hundred is determined by the difference of parts. To summarize into twenty, it is the system of the omniscient Rongzom Chökyi Zangpo, which is derived from this. Thus, in the root tantra it says: "The root vows are five, and one also has two and thirteen." Thus it is said. Each of the root ones is divided into two, skillful means and wisdom, so there are ten. And again, each of those is divided into the number of body, speech, and mind.
