Therefore, the five hidden channels reside in the heart, becoming the thirteen Vajra Holders free from obscurations. Now, the detailed classifications of the channels, wheels, and branches will be explained through "Successively Explaining the Detailed Classifications of Channels and Branches," and so on. Among these, the basis of the wheel is the central channel (d central channel (dBu ma). Some believe that it is not truly existent, while others believe that it exists but consider it the life channel, and some consider it the cause. Although these views have arisen, since the Omniscient Dharma King has already refuted the first two, there is no need for further analysis. As for the intermediate view, Saraha said, "Since wind and movement rely on the channel, life is in the channel. From essence, ordinary consciousness naturally ceases." Although it is temporarily considered the basis of the Alaya (kun gzhi) together with the life wind, merely as a term, in reality, the channel known as the one arising from meditation with four characteristics is definitely the meaning. If divided, there are three types of central channel: the abiding, the Dharmata (chos nyid), and the ultimate. The first is the life-sustaining channel just mentioned. The second is that within that channel, the Dharmata central channel with four characteristics, whose nature is luminosity, free from touch, exists as long as the aggregation of body, mind, and breath exists. When these three separate, it becomes invisible along with the breath. It arises from the overall beauty of the channel and is known as the subtle particle, equal to the light of pure crystal. The names are: Avadhuti, Delightful Mother, Universal Trembling Mother, Rahu, Dark Mother, etc. Although Kakmukha, Crow Face, Conch Mother, etc., are corporeal channels, they are said to be included in the category of the central channel. The third is merely the purity of words, without the nature of accomplishment. Therefore, the outer wheels are successively the navel, throat, and heart, representing body, speech, and mind, or the four bodies. Above that is the crown chakra, becoming the five bodies. Above that is the secret place, the names of the wheels as they are widely known. If measured in terms of the six perfections, it is adding the channel petals of the crown chakra of space to the former. Adding and subtracting from these is done through the manner of what is to be purified, what purifies, and the result of purification. The branches are sixty-four channel petals at the navel, sixteen at the throat with two sets of eight, eight channel petals at the heart, thirty-two at the crown, bliss...

Therefore, seventy-two, as well as at the crown of the head, are known as the wheel of the realm of space (421). Here, "likewise" refers to the last of the six wheels, hence it is said that way, and it is shown as if the small veins of the limbs are nourished. Regarding this, according to the Kalachakra, in the intervals between each of the wheels just mentioned, internally there are twelve shifts of wind elements, externally there are twelve seasons such as sheep and cattle, and secretly there are twelve interdependent originations such as ignorance. The binding action of the wind prevents the outward shift of the elements, and as the secret place of the reversed path, the wheel of wisdom, progresses, one shift of wind and one interdependent origination cease, and the initial realization of earth arises. Gradually, until the wheel of the realm of space, each part of wind and interdependent origination reverses. When the earth is completely perfected to twelve, at the end, when the bindu at the crown of the head mixes with the element of the space wheel, the manifest complete enlightenment as the first Buddha is the rule of the Kalachakra. In order to know the boundaries of the general tantra's completion stage, the intent of the Magical Net and so on are explained (422). On the vein petals of the same kind as the previous one, the six seed syllables that exist as the basis for purification, through the practice of the six sages, the six Thubpas, and the six perfections, one obtains five distinct wisdoms that are generally known, and one inconceivable wisdom, making a total of six. Similarly, in the heart there is the wheel of forty-two peaceful deities, and on the crown of the head there are two wheels of fifty-eight wrathful deities, respectively having vein petals equal in number to the deities, and it is believed that the secret instructions for liberation through skillful means, above and below, are the two doors of the path, which is the rule of the king of tantras, the Magical Net. How are the two upper doors? The first is, generating the wisdom of the four joys of the union of burning and dripping, the number of vein petals is, the first four, in the navel chakra visualizing short A, and in the heart manifesting vaṃ (Tibetan, Devanagari vam, Romanized Sanskrit vam, water), in the throat manifesting a (Tibetan, Devanagari a, Romanized Sanskrit a, fire), on the crown of the head manifesting haṃ (Tibetan, Devanagari ham, Romanized Sanskrit ham, space).
