It was hidden. The reasons for establishing a monastery and the letters of invitation at the border of the white lotus land (Padma Dkarpo) have also arrived. In general, it is difficult to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings by managing monasteries in the degenerate age. Temporarily, it is named as an invitation, but it is difficult to know what is in mind until the desire is satisfied. Previously, when I was in Tsona Radeng, I saw the snorting and fatigue of the mules on the road, and I thought that even this one fault of relying on animal transport on a long journey could not be eliminated, and I felt uneasy. Remembering the intention of the meaningful teacher and the Shravaka retinue not relying on riding and transportation, I felt refreshed by walking around a bit. This year, I recited the Tara Hundred Thousand Rituals, the Longevity Dharani Hundred Thousand Rituals twice, the Confession Sutra a hundred times, and the Medicine Buddha Ritual a hundred times. In order to increase hearing, upholding, and faith in the Three Jewels, I placed a Kangyur in front of me and had it read. This winter of my fiftieth year, I matured and liberated the great empowerment of the Sutra Gathering for about forty people, including Dwags sprul and Mon ljongs Mkhar bla ma, as well as the Dakini Heart Essence, Lama Yangtig, Chos dbang rin po che's Yangdag (284), Hayagriva, Manjushri, and many other subsequent grants. Incidentally, I explained the commentary on the Twenty-one Taras of the Jo lineage, the distinction of the fourteen root downfalls, and the explanation of the "Friendly Letter", according to the rules of the great scholar (slob dpon blo gros chen po), at the appropriate time. I also analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of the two Chinese versions of the commentary on the "Friendly Letter". The words recalled by the Monpa Lama, called "Ocean of Merit," were recorded. At these times, I generated great mental strength, because the root of the Nyingma (rnying bstan) lies in the three: Sutra, Illusion, and Mind. Those who entered later were very ignorant, and the blessings of the early translation tantras, and their textual meanings without error, which were initiated by great scholars and were very famous and stable good traditions, have disappeared. The custodians of the lineage of Garab Dorje (dga' rab dbang phyug) have brought the teachings to the brink of decline. Those small instructions cannot comprehend the common meaning of the great tantras, and only consider the teachings, gathering at Shri Parvata for the offering of the liberation path ritual.

Hoping to establish a tradition. I accomplished many things in terms of rituals. I performed rituals that combined the mandalas of the various branches. I created painted scrolls (Thangkas). I mastered the drawing lines and hand gestures from the lineage holders. Starting with one hundred silver coins, I began calculating the necessary conditions (285), and I specifically invited both new and old individuals. I also attached explanations of the ritual procedures. I mastered the main ritual texts for the initiation activities that serve as the gateway. The common practices of vows, such as the mudras of dependent origination, became like placing food in front of a dog. In the Jataka tales, it says: The near shore, the far shore, and the shore of the ocean are all long. The mountain kings of the east and west are even longer than that. The distance between the sky and the earth is also long. The Dharma of ordinary beings and the Dharma of holy beings are even longer than that. That is what it says there. Now that we have reached the end of the five hundred years, I feel saddened that it is difficult to serve the teachings, and my interest in meditative equipoise has grown stronger. In general, the mandala of Secret Mantra is the city of great liberation, and the single opportunity for a qualified guru to lead a qualified disciple into it is difficult to find even in this world. The pure results of rituals and samadhi are not deceiving. Ignorant people say that I cannot teach and spread the Dharma, and they look at the differences between cause and effect in the merit of hearing the Dharma. Those who work for the benefit of beings also wonder, "Which Dharma will ripen and liberate the continuum?" They have also abandoned the thought of great beings who believe that they can greatly benefit others and extract the essence so that the tradition of Buddhism will not perish. If they obtain ornaments like empowerments and transmissions, they will definitely think only of protecting their own reputation and seeking wealth, so they do not regard the guru as a guru. They do not think of the Dharma as Dharma, and even though they have not moved from the state of ordinary beings, they are arrogant about the qualities of holy beings simply because they sit on a high throne (286). This is one of the wonders of the snowy land! The Omniscient Great One said: "Empowerments are not complete, and the meaning of the tantras is not understood. Recitations are incomplete, and approach and accomplishment are not fully attained. Empowerments, consecrations, and city rituals are done to seek wealth. The ignorance of fools, the great differences in food and clothing. Deluded by wrong views and philosophical systems, they create amazement. Seeing the image of a guide, this heart is saddened." That is what he said. We examine our own minds, and because we have not attained the ability to travel through the bardo, we are greedy for wealth and wrong livelihood.
