When, due to the needs of others, the question arose as to how Dzogchen practitioners view the Kunjyi (Ālaya-vijñāna,藏文:ཀུན་གཞི་,梵文:ālaya-vijñāna,梵文罗马拟音:ālaya-vijñāna,汉语字面意思:阿赖耶识) and Dharmakāya (ཆོས་སྐུ,dharmakāya,dharmakāya,法身), the answer was given according to the view of the Omniscient Great One, and it was satisfying. Inquiring further into the view of Dzogchen: The so-called Tathāgatagarbha (བདེ་བར་གཤེགས་པའི་སྙིང་པོ།,tathāgatagarbha, tathāgatagarbha,如来藏) is in accordance with the ultimate truth. Regarding whether it is manifestly present in the realm of sentient beings, I have heard and understood how, in that instance, it was attacked by the Inner School and the Golden-Colored School. It seems that those two are like those who release gallstones from iron, so the subsequent arguments became unmatched battles, or so I think. I do not hold my own view as supreme. In general, all views established through learning and contemplation are understandings. However, they do not sever the root of non-origination. If one says, "In the Madhyamaka's refutation of arguments, it is said: 'Without relying on conventional truth, one cannot realize the ultimate truth.' (290)" Then, that is intended for the sake of the view needing to be connected with scriptures and reasoning. What is experienced through meditation is also deeply connected with the obscurations of knowledge, so unobstructed qualities do not abide genuinely. If one realizes that the view that is primordially established, the wisdom of self-abiding free from elaboration, does not need to be altered, then that is called Dzogchen, which is separate from all commitments. Even though this does not enter the ears of the great masters of characteristics, it is in accordance with the meaning of the Ornament of Clear Realization: "Herein, there is nothing to be removed, there is nothing slightly to be established, view reality in reality, when reality is seen, there is liberation." However, among the teachers of the same Tibetan language, the good one, such as Chapa Chökyi Senge (ཕྱ་པ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་སེང་གེ་), also agrees with placing the ultimate truth in the realm of verbal concepts, so the view arising from the wisdom of learning and contemplation, the Dharma language that follows words and terms, is sufficient for you all. Padampa Sangye (ཕ་དམ་པ་སངས་རྒྱས།) said: "The ultimate co-emergent wisdom is the handprint of completing accumulations and purifying obscurations, and the blessing of a realized lama alone. Other than that, relying on other methods, know that it is foolish." As it is said, the view realized by Kusulu (ཀུ་སུ་ལུ་བ།) through the means of genuinely accumulating merit and purifying obscurations, and the stages of generation, bodhicitta, devotion, etc., as it is said in the Bodhicaryāvatāra (སྤྱོད་འཇུག): "The ultimate is not the realm of the intellect, the intellect is said to be the deluded conventional." Therefore, although it cannot be determined by words and terms, the one who directly realizes the wisdom of the noble ones can understand the meaning of the Buddha's words and commentaries.
