In terms of direction, there are two aspects of a wheel: the edge and the center. The wisdom and power of individuals manifest separately in terms of affirmation and negation, and the difference between the sound as it is and the realization of hidden meanings is extremely great. Generally, those who adhere to characteristics (mtshan nyid pa) think that: 'Whatever arises dependently, is unceasing and unborn,' and so on. By analyzing these words with understanding (253), they are actually engaging in futility. Conceptualization by consciousness contradicts wisdom. The emptiness of analyzing the aggregates is foolish in terms of the nature of reason. They think that the wisdom of the Buddha cannot be known by the realm of sentient beings, and they cling to the edge of countless three kalpas. We, the Dzogchenpas, say in the Nearness Heart Essence Tantra: 'Whatever engages in meditation for the sake of enlightenment, is seized by the disease of thinking, "I am a meditator." The realm of the Sugata cannot be expressed in words. To teach in the realm of the Buddha is a mistaken path.' Like this, in the form of detachment: 'Profound, peaceful, free from elaboration, luminous, unconditioned. I have found a Dharma like nectar.' When applying this to meaning: Because the essence is without characteristics, it is profound. Because the nature is inconceivable, it is peaceful. Because it does not fall into the extremes of permanence and annihilation, it is free from elaboration. Because the Dharma nature is free from separation, attainment, and abandonment, it is luminous. Because it transcends the knowable of conceptual analysis, it is unconditioned. At the stage of the path, the accumulation of merit is like an ocean, and only the field of activity of the wisdom of the Lama can be introduced through the blessing of dependent arising. These two are inconsistent due to the difference between looking outward and looking inward, so this inconsistency of thought and speech arises. Someone said that this is consistent with Mahamudra and the Heshang's view, and knowing that this previous view remained in their mind, he said this: When directly showing the Dharma nature that transcends the acceptance and rejection of good and evil, the Mother Sutra also says: 'In emptiness, there is no form, no feeling (254), no perception, no formation, no consciousness.' Regarding this, there is neither taking the individually analyzing wisdom as something to be taken, nor abandoning what should be abandoned. If you say that this is the view of Heshang, and add many fabrications in language, then if it is used as a basis for refutation by the Svatantrika Madhyamaka view, then Nagarjuna's view is explained by Dipamkara in this way, that the individually analyzing wisdom itself is also

It is not established. For example, when two pieces of wood are rubbed together to produce fire, the two pieces of wood are burned away, and after they are gone, what is it that burns? The very absence of that is itself peaceful, and the nature of both self and generality is completely unestablished. Since wisdom itself swallows appearances and illuminates what is below, how can it not be established in any nature? All faults such as sinking and excitement are eliminated. At that time, knowledge does not conceptualize or grasp anything. By abandoning all memory and attention, the three stages of meditation are extremely important. In the *Vigrahavyavartani* it says, "Because I have no thesis, I am therefore faultless." And so on. What obstructs the Dharma-nature, which is shown in many ways, and what hinders the Hwashang from rolling the Buddha's words into a ball and saying that the thesis is not established? This should also be examined. In that case, is there any reason to follow the heretics who do not measure the words of the Buddha? If so, the sutras such as the *Avatamsaka* reside in the wisdom of Hwashang. In reality, before the Dharma-dhatu is transformed, discrimination is abandoned, and after translation, the wisdom of Hwashang (page 255) mostly has the power to translate. Moreover, you regard the Dharma of non-attention as a wrong view, but you regard Acharya Kunley as an accomplished one. Therefore, in Samye, all the treatises of the great Hwashang rely on the scriptures of the Mother. Did the previous authors exaggerate the sect? If the Mother Prajnaparamita Sutra is wrong, then I do not know. Furthermore, Acharya Kamalasila is a Svatantrika Madhyamika, so please ask Jowo Gelugpa whether his doctrine is pure or not. That is what is written. If you say that I am holding on to my own view as superior, then in Jowo's *Entering Alone*, the wisdom of the Bhagavan does not see anything. Why? Because wisdom has no object. Look at Nagarjuna's treatise. In general, if you say that the previous view said so, then it is acceptable to do so in order to generate pure appearances and certainty for those who have equanimity. Otherwise, a fair examination is unavoidable. Even so, the Dharma does not rely on words.
