If the path of seeing is not born in the continuum, Faithful offerings, deceased's wealth, visible objects, etc., Are piled up for the sake of practice, Then abandon worldly conformity. Once you are able to practice alone, Obstacles and demons will disguise themselves as anything. Do not praise yourself, do not chew torma, Think about the qualities of the superiors. The conditions of the place are powerful, They will disguise themselves as fame, enjoyment, merit, Food, drink, agreeable friends, Cut off attachment to everything. An upright person, A Dharma-conforming friend, And a person without jealousy are rare, So stay alone by yourself. Asceticism is good, But it is better not to drink alcohol, Know that it is the thief of mindfulness and discipline. Applying mud to the door is amazing, But it is deeper to seal your own mouth. Speaking, whether skilled or unskilled, Think that it will generate attachment and aversion. Taking refuge is amazing, But it is better to make all happiness, suffering, good and bad, The mind that knows the Three Jewels the main thing, Abandon alternating faith. Confession is amazing, But strong regret is better, With the complete four powers, Thoroughly destroy sins and transgressions. Making offerings and generosity is good, But small faith is better, Abandon from the objects of craving, Satisfy the clinging to nourishment. Praying and calling from afar is good, But it is better to have faith, When faith changes appearance, The lama is in front of you. Meditating on realization is good, But it is better to have clear generation stage, Knowing what is to be purified and what purifies, Practice the union of generation and completion stages. Meditating on the nature of reality is good, But it is better to leave the unmade, natural, Essence without permanence or annihilation, Let go of elaboration, rest in your own place. The view of Tögal is good, But it is better to have self-display spontaneously accomplished, Without too much clinging to conceptual thoughts, Directly settle awareness. Manifesting benefit for others is good, But it is better to hold the mind of enlightenment, Dedicate all the good deeds you have done, To the aspiration of benefiting others. In short, without selfishness, Knowing your own faults, without arrogance, Generating pure appearance to all, Dwelling in a low place, having great altruism, Not moved by the eight worldly dharmas.

Abandoning the actions of a distracted mind, finding joy in sickness and death, delighting in dwelling in solitary retreats. Obeying whatever the Lama says, not letting oneself be controlled by oneself or evil companions. If you do so, even if someone says there is no experience or qualities, when traversing the pure realms in the bardo, there will be no deception, this is the command of the Victorious Ones. I and the three times, timelessly, will meet again and again, without separation. Keep these heartfelt words in mind! Written by the Dzogchenpa Rangjung Dorje when Jigme Namgyal was engaged in a three-year retreat. From Gon Tsetrul Rinpoche's various questions on how to cultivate mindfulness: Generally speaking, the so-called "mindfulness" has different entities, so in the great systems of thought, such as the five paths and ten bhumis, the term mindfulness is used everywhere, which is to symbolize the mindfulness of the foundation of mindfulness on the path of accumulation (747). That is, the meaning of the first question is that the mindfulness of the generation stage of the deity, devotion to the lama, and the mindfulness of renunciation and arising of certainty are called "mindfulness of action." If it is the generation stage, it is the mindfulness of perceiving appearances as form. Similarly, for devotion, there is recognition and intention; for renunciation and arising of certainty, there are various feelings generated by consciousness, and so on. Although they are different, in reality, there is no place to go beyond the nature of the five aggregates, and in the initial stage, this focused mindfulness is indispensable, just as one cannot abandon the path before reaching the destination. The meaning of the second question is that sometimes when the mind is distracted by external objects, one thinks, "I am distracted," and then gathers it back, and abiding in this way without modification is the mindfulness of the concept of grasping at emptiness. Some say that if one is satisfied with merely being aware of distraction, it seems that there is no difference between that and an ordinary person who does not turn towards meditation. In fact, the difference is very great, because those who can realize the nature of non-arising and non-ceasing by relying on the three sources of mind, and the ordinary people who do not understand whether the mind is substantial or insubstantial, the two are completely different. Ordinary people are freed from evil actions, but they are still sinking deeper into delusion. Although it is called distraction, the state of non-distraction that they believe in is actually just using the other-power of the eight consciousnesses, which contradicts the nature of reality and the entity. Those who have seen the nature of mind, their awareness is clear and lucid, and when they are temporarily distracted by the objects of the six consciousnesses,
