This is the instruction. An exhortation for the sake of Kongpo Gotsang Tulku. No need to mention noble beings, even among the inferior, distinctions of superior and inferior are made solely by the difference in qualities. Therefore, be diligent in learning. As the Vinaya Sutra also says, "First, learn the letters," so be diligent in both writing and reading letters. The correctness of its vocabulary, such as "Correct Spelling: Lamp of the Speech of the Wise," etc., which have become standard works, and the Thirty Verses on Tibetan Grammar, the Treatise on Signs, the Tent of Li Shi, etc., are treatises that show the function of the mind in debate. The Root Text of Poetics and its commentary, which beautify treatises and expressions. The vast treatise on calculation, which clearly shows what to accept and reject. And grammar, etc., are treatises on terminology. To make one's own intelligence powerful, one should also become familiar with past chronicles (738), stories, religious histories, and biographies. After that, in order to gather the scattered teachings that view the realm of the Buddha as an ocean, and to clarify what is hidden, one should study the general tenets of all schools, and in particular, the views of the Indian and Tibetan scholars and siddhas from the Three Baskets to the Great Perfection of Naturalness, showing them nakedly, and simultaneously eliminating errors, wrong paths, and the faults of being unruly, such as the three symbolic wooden horses of the great teachings of Gyalwa Longchenpa's Mind at Rest, root text and commentary, and the tenets of the schools, and the Wish-Fulfilling Treasury, etc., the root texts and commentaries of the seven kinds, with the pure wisdom born of thought, completely adorning the hall of intelligence. On the boundless path of the three, empowerment, transmission, and instruction of Vajrayana (739), if one only focuses on the Hearers, as the Jataka says, "Even crossing a collection of fires and the edge of a razor, I sought the sacred Dharma until the end of death." This is its meaning. What is the ultimate result of hearing in this way? As it says, "One who possesses discipline, hearing, and thought, should diligently apply himself to meditation." Therefore, on the basis of pure discipline, placing the edges of the three wisdoms correctly within, thereby perfecting the complete qualities of abandonment and realization, firmly establishing oneself in the realm of the enlightened mind of the perfect Buddha, accomplishing the benefit of oneself and others. One should not say the three firm grounds, but rather that the rivers of Kagyu and Mahamudra are mingled, this is the teaching of Gampopa.

It is known to all the lineage holders. The reason for saying so is that Lharje was initially a Kadampa, a virtuous spiritual friend. Later, he received the Mahamudra from Mila. The teachings combine these two, and in terms of terminology, I understand it to be a school of thought. In general, it abandons the valid cognitions of other schools that possess four valid proofs. Although white and black are impossible in the expanse, one's own realization is white, while others' realizations are considered black. It proclaims that the scriptures have become instructions, declaring them to be false instructions. Although the teachings of Ajiang are in their own territory, praising their greatness, I deeply admire and rejoice in the All-Knowing White Lotus and the wise Sangye Dorje. Therefore, even if it is not necessary, if I might have disputes, then from Gyalwang Chöje downwards, if it is written as "Kagyu," then it is reasonable in intellect and established in scripture. Why is it that the initial Kadampa, others are unwilling to call "Ka"? Because later, the teachings of Gyalwang Chöje were used as evidence. To the caretaker, the master of mindfulness, I like the essence of such playfulness. Because Dharma does not rely on words, but relies on meaning, it is correct. If you see faults of nonsense and vulgar words here, I will not hide them. I prostrate to the feet of the Lama. Listen, completely victorious one, there is no attachment to worldly affairs. The thought of death arises from not remembering death. Therefore, in the exhortation of Dharma, practice impermanence and the uncertainty of death. All the happiness and suffering of oneself and others are the result of karma and actions. There is no selling suffering to (742) others, let the results of karma be the witness. Even if one understands Dharma with great wisdom, if wisdom is perverse, one will fall into the lower realms. Because renunciation has not separated from the continuum, always stay in solitude. The root of the Great Vehicle is only the supreme Bodhicitta. Subdue sentient beings with compassion, and instill the altruistic mind into the continuum. Even if you endure hundreds of hardships and toils, if you do not please the mind of the Lama with great devotion, realization will not arise in the continuum. Therefore, please invite faith and devotion as guests. Living in a secluded mountain retreat, it is possible to make your own continuum peaceful and tranquil. If you die now, what certainty do you have? Look and encourage diligence.
