It is called the six aggregates. For example, when the consciousness of the ear clearly hears a sound, without any investigation or thought about that sound, it is said that the self-born innate awareness that obtains that sound is directly brought into thought. The same applies to other (senses). This can be understood by studying the meaning of "such appearances in the field of the eye" etc. in the "Seven Chapter". So, if it is said that there are six aggregates, does it mean that there are six consciousnesses? It is not so. The single Alaya consciousness, because there is wind flowing in the roots of each sense organ, the mind is led like a horse, and thus performs activities such as hearing. For example (597), if a monkey is put into a house with five holes, this monkey sticks its head out of all the holes, and although it may be mistaken for many monkeys, in reality five monkeys are not needed. Or, if a large lamp is lit in that house, the five holes will appear like fire, but this does not require five lamps. It should be understood through this metaphor. Therefore, you should understand that this is just a miracle of one consciousness. After doing so, if it is left without any modification, then it is the relaxed memory of the six aggregates, or there is no aggregate in directly taking away consciousness. If you study this reason, then those who consider themselves to have profound views and meditations have not actually achieved anything. This is the teaching to Vagindra Dharmakirti. Padmasambhava said, "One year of retreat (598), one month of silence is best." In general, the blessing of speech, and understanding sound and emptiness as mantra, etc., are the vast paths of tantra. But in the initial stages, do not expand by thinking that it is just like that. Because there is no certainty in understanding the spontaneously accomplished sound and emptiness as mantra without modification when reaching the state where illusion has completely disappeared, obscuring it with human language will rob the power of the mantra, etc., causing many obstacles and faults, so it is necessary to draw a line. It is said that this was said by the Transformation Body Rinpoche in response to "In order to understand that I am the mantra, it seems that there is no need to be silent." In general, is it okay if contrived virtuous deeds are interrupted at the time of non-contrivance, will happiness come? What is the reality of non-contrivance?

If one deeply realizes this, it is like (599) abandoning distractions, companions, etc., and single-mindedly abiding in meditation. The Great Perfection states that one should let go of the nine preoccupations, and similarly, Lord Milarepa also said: "For the pure Lhaje, when meditating on the Great Seal, do not strive for virtuous deeds of body and speech, otherwise the non-conceptual wisdom is in danger of disappearing. Rest in the uncorrected, natural state." As it is said, in order not to feel the disturbance of the karma winds, it is certainly better to simply leave the three doors in an effortless state. However, we degenerate age practitioners, if we need to comply with companions, idle talk, and the distractions of this life, then while abandoning these virtuous deeds, if we cannot abandon idle talk, etc., we violate our vows and fear that our lives will be spent meaninglessly in a mountain cave. Therefore, in the realm of the ultimate truth, which is like the sky and without error, one should not (600) abandon virtuous deeds in the play of the conventional truth, which is like illusion. As Lord Atisha said, "Until conceptual thoughts cease, karma exists, so have faith in the ripening of karma." In reality, these virtuous deeds with characteristics are all conventional truth. If one thinks that there is no benefit or harm and does not do them, then one is killing the means with the understanding of emptiness, and it becomes practicing emptiness, which is not right. Moreover, even if one does virtuous deeds, one should not think that one has completely completed the root of virtue, nor should one have any feeling of deficiency, but rather one should let awareness become as vast as the sky. As it is said in the Great Perfection, "Do not be attached to experience, and do not be attached to experience after experiencing it." It is like abiding in the ultimate truth and accepting the conventional truth, so one must know how to combine one's own views with high and low, and put it down for a while. Just like the dream omens in (601) Sambhota, both the past and the present are remembered in the mind. Now, writing down the good and bad of dream omens is also becoming attached to dreams, which is a gateway for demons to enter, so from now on, no matter what good or bad things happen, do not think they are real, do not be attached, do not care, and abide in the universally expansive nature, which is very important. The reason for this is that the previous dream said that one had attained the Vidyadhara, and the subsequent dream said that your life would end tonight, and the understanding is not the same, which shows this. Moreover, Vidyadhara is one of the four Vidyadharas of the Tantric tradition, and has perfected the most excellent Dharma.
