Even things as dear as myself, Haven't you seen them used by the enemy's purity? In the gap between this life and the next, There is nothing but the coming and going of breath. (549) Do not cling to the illusory samsara, Urge renunciation in your mind and wander in the mountains. Outwardly, there are the changes of the four seasons, Inwardly, there are the changes of enemies, friends, and neutrals, Secretly, there are the three changes of thoughts rising and falling. Behold, this great drama appears before you. Samsara, nirvana, good, and evil are all created by the mind, Happiness and suffering are the result of karma, If you cling to external objects, your life will be wasted. Precious leisure and opportunity are wasted, increasing suffering. The thoughts of enemies, friends, and neutrals, In the minds of ordinary people, create strong attachment and aversion. If practitioners can observe the origin of beings in the three realms, They will know that there is not even a speck of dust that truly exists. No one knows when this life will end, Clinging to permanence will lead to ruin. (550) If you can let go of thoughts of happiness, suffering, enemies, and friends, It is the spontaneously accomplished source of happiness without effort. Rock caves, places to fit oneself, earthen holes, small huts, etc., Go to a solitary place far from the crowds of monasteries and temples. Disgust and renunciation will arise naturally. Therefore, the benefits of the edge are inconceivable. The boasting and arrogance filled with the noise of the eight worldly concerns, And the absurd talk of clinging to worldly pleasures, These will become messengers leading us to hell. Think of the benefits of the cool spring water in a solitary place! Alas! Today, this clever little dog of mine, Is fiercely urged by disgust and renunciation, Recalling the liberation stories of past accomplished ones. Regretting that the life of youth has been burned like grass. Now, the evil deeds of the degenerate age have penetrated all beings', Minds, so that there is no time for practice, Most people are diligently cultivating, creating evil karma. Hearing this, (551) full of thoughts, my heart aches. Alas! Short life passes like white hair, Now death is near. At the time of death, except for the sacred Dharma, Nothing else is helpful, causing disgust. Ah! All my Dharma friends who have faith in me, All the good and bad of this life will turn to dust. Whether sick or happy, dying or at ease, be content, Now go to the remote forest! The appearance of the world is like a Gandharva city, Clinging to it only binds oneself.

Emaho! In the state of non-conceptual, free from elaboration, the ground of liberation, the innate state, I myself know that letting go and the ultimate intention are accomplished. The master of the teachings, Shakya Sengge, and the protector of Tibet, the noble Avalokiteśvara, and the great teacher of incomparable kindness, (552) I entrust my mind, heart, and breast, and may my wishes be fulfilled. That lama, the source of qualities, endowed with three qualities, is praised eight times by the Victorious Ones as the embodiment of all Buddhas. If clear devotion and faith are present, blessings will enter. When the realization of the mind-stream is transferred, it is a transaction. The beauty of various rocky mountains, with slender branches connected like strings of beads, a place where birds and wild animals play and frolic. Go there and meditate on profound samadhi. Because the essence of the Sugata pervades all, all sentient beings have the seed of omniscience. From the back of awareness and unawareness, there is nothing; now meditate on stainless, clear light. As it arises in the clear radiance of clear awareness, it must be written down, as urged by the one named Chandra (553). Written under the cool shade of the Udumbara tree. May this virtue transform the minds of all beings towards the sacred Dharma, may the Buddhas of the three times bless it. Emaho! Unfabricated, relaxed, the nature of being free, beyond acceptance and rejection, the deep, clear vase-like body. To the vast, self-liberated, stainless light, I prostrate with a stream of thoughts beyond mind. The essence of the meaning of meditation, examples and words, is said to be separate from grasping. Although it is said to be famous on earth like the wind, the key is that there is no alteration or modification of awareness. It is not a means of eliminating sinking and agitation. Because expanding awareness, drawing it inward, etc., are views created by the mind, release attraction and aversion, and attachment as you wish. It is said that there is nothing to cultivate other than mere remembrance, (554) although it is said to be the view and meditation of Mahamudra and Dzogchen, if attachment enters into awareness, then these two will deceive most meditators. Doubting whether it is right or wrong in the inexpressible wisdom, the vast expanse, is because there is no certainty in listening. Let it go, and rest in its natural state. Do not deliberately guard against all the thoughts that arise. The empty awareness that arises, the naked space, do not make distinctions of right and wrong. The experience of bliss, clarity, and non-thought, the peak
