Without clinging. When appearance and mind are blended, and the state of meditation and post-meditation are almost fused, that is what is called the "intermediate path of meditation." Therefore, all phenomena of samsara and nirvana become self-liberated upon arising, like water poured into water, realizing the samadhi of co-emergent wisdom beyond thought. Even the slight obscuration of clinging and belief that acts as an antidote to this samadhi is removed, purifying the consciousness of afflicted mind. Through the power of mastering appearance and mind, the antidote of abandonment arises naturally with the mere arrival of correct mindfulness. Abandoning the notion of grasping objects and subjects as distinct, meditation and post-meditation are almost fused, thus understanding the suchness of meditation and post-meditation. The recognition of meditation and post-meditation here should be understood as the unique view of the Great Perfection tradition, my personal instruction for cutting through errors. At times, because meditation and post-meditation arise spontaneously, the Mind Series of the Great Perfection school says that in meditation, samsara and nirvana are of one taste, and in post-meditation, the eight consciousnesses are understood as illusory, thus freeing oneself from fear. This is similar here, but the great freedom from elaboration, like the explanation of the four unions, is not heard. Only the intermediate state of one taste is mentioned, which seems slightly different. This system establishes the meaning of the vajra verses without error, so it should not be mixed up. The Lord of Yogis, Milarepa, also held this view. Third, the Great Path of Meditation: As it says in the same text: "Confused appearances need no correction, no mixing, they arise as meditation. Meditation and post-meditation blend into the environment, yet there is still confusion of signs, this is called the yoga of the Great Path of Meditation." Therefore, previously appearance and mind have merged into one taste, and the alternation of such meditation and post-meditation has become very stable, so that daytime appearances blend into the surroundings. For sudden appearances of objects such as fear, there is no need to intervene with antidotes, but rather they arise as the power of post-meditation, which Mahamudra calls the Great One Taste. If it is in accordance with the Paramita Vehicle, then at this time the terms great, intermediate, and small paths of meditation are established, and the eightfold noble path is practiced, progressing from the second ground, the stainless ground, up to the tenth ground, the cloud of dharma. Furthermore, according to the meaning of the Ornament of the Sutras, each of the great, intermediate, and small is divided into three, thus becoming nine, and the smallest of the small is the second ground.

Purity of discipline is the perfection of discipline. The medium of the small, the third ground illuminating, is the perfection of patience. The great of the small, the fourth ground radiating light, is the perfection of diligence. The small of the medium, the fifth ground difficult to tame, is the perfection of meditation. The medium of the medium, the sixth ground manifest, is the perfection of wisdom. The great of the medium, the seventh ground gone afar, is the perfection of means. The small of the great, the eighth ground immovable, is the perfection of strength. The medium of the great, the ninth ground good intelligence, is the perfection of aspiration. The great of the great, the tenth ground cloud of dharma, is the perfection of wisdom, therefore, this transformation of the ten grounds is considered to be the same as a Bodhisattva. Regarding this, it is said in the Uttaratantra: "This state of a Bodhisattva, subsequent attainment is like the Tathagatas, and also in saving sentient beings, is equal in the world. Although it is so, what is the difference between dust and, the ocean, water in a cow's hoofprint? The difference between a Buddha and, a Bodhisattva is just like that." Although it shows a similar aspect to the Buddha in saving sentient beings in terms of the way of acting in activities, in reality, from the perspective of both action and activity, the Buddha is more superior, as shown by the examples of dust and so on. The difference in qualities from the second ground onwards is that the initial qualities increase by hundreds of thousands of billions, and the power to manifest or not manifest is present in each moment, which has already been explained by the examples of the Garuda and the crow. Next, regarding the three divisions of the path of no more learning, namely great, medium, and small, the first is the small yoga. As it says in the same text: "Exhaustion of mindfulness, intention, effort, wisdom, equality, subsequent attainment, environment are mixed, there is a subtle stain of delusion during sleep, this is called the small yoga of no more learning." Therefore, in the lower paths, due to the power of subsequent attainment, the power of merit and wisdom is immeasurably complete, and for views that accord with desire, through the evidence of scriptures and reasoning, one is always able to endure union, non-duality, and all commitments to grasping at the inexpressible naturally subside.
