Therefore, through meditation, these thoughts are more changeable than flies in the sun, to the point where one might think, "Is there no progress in meditation?" After experiencing a nauseating aversion, to some extent, the essence of awareness becomes clear and understanding is not obstructed. That clarity and brightness, rather than longing, a sense of emptiness manifests very strongly, how long does this last in meditation? If one does not meditate, it becomes ordinary and dissipates. To this, Mahamudra calls "small one-pointedness." Some people think "it's like this," which is an understanding, so it cannot be satisfied. Second, the intermediate worldly yoga. As it says, "As long as one guards it without distraction, one will gain greater stability, and even if one meditates, the path of meditation will arise, the parts of meditation will arise, this is called the intermediate worldly yoga." Therefore, continuing the previous meditation and diligently cultivating diligence, the way of grasping experience is similar to before, but the clarity is slightly increased. Even in some cases where one does not meditate, awareness suddenly flashes, manifesting a clear, empty, naked experience. To this, Mahamudra calls "intermediate one-pointedness." Third, the great worldly yoga. As it says, "This samadhi is clearer and brighter than before, and naturally occurs day and night continuously, this is called the great worldly yoga." Therefore, gaining greater stability, the experience of clear emptiness naked, indistinguishable from non-attention, arises continuously day and night, Mahamudra calls "great one-pointedness." Dzogchen Semde considers the abiding experience to be "awareness not scattering outward," which is also similar to this. In this experience, the body feels pleasure, and immeasurable joy arises in the mind. Like a lamp not moved by the wind, one develops certainty and joy in meditation. One does not feel the existence of the body. Attachment to worldly affairs decreases. The difference between high and low experiences is very great. Sometimes arrogance arises, thinking, "Who could be better than me?" Sometimes awareness becomes dry, and a sense of weariness arises, thinking, "I have no meditation." Sometimes compassion arises for sentient beings, and empty delusions arise, thinking, "I don't want to become a Buddha, nor do I want to wander in samsara." If one analyzes clear appearances with sharp awareness, many visions will appear, and if one takes them as face-to-face encounters with deities or prophecies, one will make mistakes.

Although it is claimed to be "great," there are many who do (this). If the key point of this equipoise is grasped, then the five sense consciousnesses will directly become dull, so external sounds, objects of perception, and other external conditions will not distract. However, if it is in accordance with the Paramita Vehicle, from the third pure ground, the five sense consciousnesses will transform, thereby having dominion over the pure realms. It is said that at the time of purification, it will manifest as wisdom that accomplishes actions. Although this itself is not real, from the aspect of the mind not being distracted by external conditions, it should also be understood that it is named as such. That is to say, the practitioner on the path of accumulation understands, the practitioner on the path of preparation experiences, and the practitioner on the path of seeing realizes, thus combining understanding, experience, and realization. Also, the guru is the object of focus for gods and humans, the meditation of Bodhisattvas, and the intention of Buddhas. If these are analyzed, I have found that there are special differences. Therefore, all of these before this are placed on the path of ordinary beings, because there is no special insight, so no matter how good the essence of the commitment is, it is only experience. Even if clairvoyance and signs of accomplishment arise from the interdependent arising of the root channels and the body, it is not a reason for arrogance. Even so, in this degenerate age, it is difficult to find someone who has mastered the path. Even if occasionally some persevering people appear, the spiritual friends introduce them with a confusion of day and night, so the blind leading the blind, those who only have meditation goals and experiences, but are like demons possessed who oppose enemies, waste their lives, and the hope of generating qualities is shattered. Some have not grasped the key point of equipoise, and for a hope that is neither this nor that, unpredicted, and ambiguous, they speak of a state that cannot be expressed, thinking that someone like me has a state of realization, thinking that non-meditation is this, thereby giving rise to self-satisfaction, and pure appearances never arise in the higher realms, and lacking the ability to improve, they fall into great error, destroying all the teachings of the infallible cause and effect of interdependent arising. Therefore, they will only go towards emptiness of virtue and emptiness of sin, and there is no other way. Considering this situation, just as Ugyen (Padmasambhava) advised the king, one should learn not to let conduct deviate from view, nor let view deviate from conduct, and one should rely on a qualified guru who has experience like one's eyes, and possess prayer and devotion.
