Like searching for the edge of the sky, it cannot be found. For this meaning that cannot be found, no one can alter it. For this unelaborated knowable, there is no end. Thus it is said. Similarly, from the arising of thoughts, no matter where good or bad, form appearances, etc. (981), the objects of the six senses arise, one should not intentionally grasp at them. As it is according to the tenets of conceptual thought, merely blocking the appearance of objects of the mind's dharma, such as emptiness, non-affirmation, and non-negation, one will not attain Buddhahood. As it says in the Kunjed Gyalpo (All-Creating King): "What the All-Creating King does is not great, From the appearance of the six objects to the six senses, Seeing suffering, one tries to block the senses. That which is done is not the All-Creating King, There is no fruit of freedom from birth and cessation." Thus it is said. If that is the case, isn't it close to the contaminated true appearance of the Mind-Only school, by not distinguishing between appearance and the object of appearance? For example, when seeing a mountain for the first moment, thinking "it is a mountain" is an unavoidable natural reaction of ordinary beings. But in the second moment, because of the complete power of the mind and mental factors that examine the nature of the mountain, the conceptual thoughts of the mountain naturally vanish without a trace. At that time, the appearance of the mountain does not cease (982), but abiding in the nature of non-grasping, becoming accustomed to it, arising and liberation are simultaneously purified, and appearance and mind are mixed. This is the unmistaken path of the Great Perfection of self-nature. As the Vidyadhara Garab Dorje said: "At the time of arising, arising simultaneously, there is no good or bad. At the time of liberation, liberating simultaneously, there is no good or bad." Therefore, one does not need to purify the impurities of the elements with the labor of acceptance and rejection, and it is far superior to the contaminated discipline bound by the notions of guarding and transgression. Here, the intention of the King of the Great Perfection of Self-Nature is the single bindu (thig le), and in terms of the means of practicing the path to the other shore, and all aspects of wisdom and samadhi, it is fully complete in the Great Remembrance King—the nature of awareness. In the sutra that was specially requested, it says: "Non-grasping is generosity, non-abiding is discipline, non-guarding is patience, non-diligence is diligence, non-thinking is meditation, non-objectifying is wisdom (983)." With this scriptural authority as support, it is beautiful for the wise and like opening the eyes for the ignorant. The way in which such a nature of dharma enters into the womb of the four modes of Chokzhag will also be explained in the Lamp Treatise.

In the Illuminating One it says: The measure of seeing like a mountain king, the measure of meditating like an ocean king, the measure of acting like an appearance king, the measure of fruition like a wisdom king. That yogi who possesses the four measures is mingled with the definitive meaning. Thus, with seeing like a mountain king, in the nature of being beyond thought, the great self-illuminating awareness that is recognized, without adding the antidote of mental grasping, effort, and deliberate meditation, it is placed in a state of vastness and immutability. Meditation is like an ocean king, with the body in the lotus posture, the eyes gazing into space, without creating the artifice of grasping at the appearances of the six aggregates, like an ocean unmoved by waves, the knowing is placed in a clear and lucid state (984). Conduct is like a pith instruction king, the three doors are loosened spontaneously, and from the sheath of view and meditation, the naked self-illuminating wisdom of meaning is applied directly. Fruition is like an unmade king, the five objects are placed in their natural state, and inwardly, naked self-illuminating awareness dawns clearly, and the five winds are bound in space. Outwardly, the self-appearing pure light of smoke, mirages, rainbows, and so on, also appears in accordance with the common secret. In short, since the nature is free from action, the three doors spontaneously abide in the vast expanse of great equanimity, and the key point of the Great Perfection, which is the way of non-contrivance, is profound. The meaning that is established by the twelve great vajra laughs and the eight great words that purify the eight aggregates of consciousness, is that direct knowing that transcends cause and effect, acceptance and rejection, is carried on the path without changing in the three times. Even so, my great omniscient lord of the lineage (985), Ngakgi Wangpo, directly taught the great yogis who have arrived at that nature that there is no cause and effect, good or bad, like Padmasambhava, Vimalamitra, Tilopa, and so on. Although we ourselves understand this intellectually, we have not yet reached that level in practice. Therefore, we do not fear the nature, and we combine it with caution regarding subtle karmic results and explain it. As it is said, for those of inferior intelligence, it is explained by dividing it into the two truths, and at first it will become conceptual thought. The way of that is that for those of dull faculties, whatever affliction arises, they recognize it and leave it in its own place, and the nature of the affliction will become rootless and without a place to go, thereby fulfilling the intention of the pure ground, and
