The vase breath is the source of all qualities. In the "Garland of Precious Instructions," it says: Because it is supreme among many, do not show that experience. Again, without exhaling, inhale and hold tightly, passing through the path of pure wind, entering from the lower end of the central channel, like the "hips of the letter YI." Entering the path of the central channel, the realization of the first ground arises without inversion. From the arising of each of the three signs of entering, abiding, and dissolving, the first knot of the central channel (843) is loosened, and from the entering of the wind, the qualities of the first ground arise. There, the wind and mind abide, and the qualities of the second ground arise. There, all the wind and mind dissolve, and the aggregates of grasping and being grasped are purified like space. All the qualities of knowledge increase. Temporarily, there are also qualities such as longevity, few illnesses, a healthy body, and being as swift as a bird, which are the qualities of focusing on the essential point of the vase breath. Therefore, all the qualities of wind must arise dependent on the vase breath. So, all those who practice life-sustaining wind should focus on the essential point of the vase breath. Because it is said so. Third, training the mind without conceptually elaborating on the nature of reality: Relax the body and mind, and without moving the eyes, from a state free from all thoughts, considerations, movements, and cessations, without relying on the effort of deliberately holding the wind, the middle wind is directly stretched out, which is a very profound instruction (844). In the "Garland of Precious Instructions," it says: Listen, practitioners of life-sustaining wind, in the posture of the body in vajra posture, slightly contract the operation of the lower wind, slightly press down the upper wind, the merit of stretching the middle wind directly in front of the navel is: This is the wind operation of wisdom abiding in its own place, which is helpful for any practice, such as the generation stage of the body and the practice of the luminosity of the mind. It is a wind operation that naturally accomplishes all three: holding, guiding, and scattering bindus. The aggregates of grasping and being grasped are also naturally purified. Awareness is free from the three faults of sinking, dullness, and excitement. No sensory faults such as blurred vision occur. One is not overcome by diseases of phlegm and bile. Stomach bloating and diarrhea are naturally relieved. Contagious diseases such as epidemics are purified. (845) No heat diseases occur. This is a wind operation that makes life as long as the sun and moon. One's own body appears as the deity of commitment. The body is not bent or crooked, and the wind is at the navel.

Tighten and extend downwards. Keep your eyes looking straight ahead with a firm gaze. To settle awareness in the state of primordial purity is also called the great wisdom air practice. It is also called the air practice of distinguishing between mind and awareness. During this air practice, bend the waist slightly. Extend the navel straight forward. In all exhalation and joyful breath work, also extend outwards. In short, by pressing on this key point, the upper and lower breaths will also be naturally guided. At all these times, the navel is extended straight forward. As a support for memory, it is also done by extending the navel. Even when visualizing the deity, visualize while extending the navel straight forward. Even when reciting the heart mantra, guide it while the navel is extended straight forward. Even when meditating on the non-conceptual wisdom of the nature of reality, extend the navel straight forward. Whether walking, standing, sitting, or lying down, etc. (846), at any time during the four activities, do not separate from this secret great wisdom. It is said that such intermediate breaths are not only for the time of mind training, but also to be understood as an important key to the complete conducive conditions for all stages of accomplishing the path to enlightenment. Thus, by training the mind through the three non-conceptual ways, awareness becomes focused and remains in a state of non-conceptual emptiness for a longer time, which is the extent of one's own habituation. These seven mind trainings should not be mere words, but by remembering the suffering and sorrow of being immersed in the darkness of ignorance of the nature of samsara, generally at all times, and especially during the twenty-one days of empowerment, or fourteen days, or even at least seven days, etc., if you do not transform your mind through practice, it will not become a helper to the guru, just like listening to the teachings. The Great Orgyen said: Thus, do not just be verbal, but transform the state of samsara (847) into the nature of impermanence, suffering, and mix it with sorrow and renunciation and practice. For those who are afflicted by hunger and thirst, even if they have food and drink in their hands, it is not enough to just know that it is beneficial if they do not enjoy it, just as they must eat and drink. By practicing and understanding its meaning, just like understanding being immersed in the darkness of ignorance of samsara, immediate and long-term happiness
