Like a rhinoceros horn, relying on solitude, I think from the bottom of my heart, can't I put the teachings I have heard into practice wholeheartedly? The sixth mind-training is: In the "Son's Letter" it says, "Worldly enjoyments are like honey produced by poison; just a little enjoyment will produce suffering." As it says in the "Entering the Bodhisattva's Way," "Although one has the intention to eliminate suffering, one runs towards suffering, which is truly pitiful. (820) Although one desires happiness, due to ignorance, one destroys one's own happiness like destroying an enemy." Just as it is said, we are extremely ignorant about what to take and what to abandon. Although we want happiness, what we do is only the cause of suffering. For example, a moth likes the light of a lamp, and when it goes there, it is burned alive and dies; a bee is attached to the essence of honey, and when it sucks on a flower, it gets stuck there or dies with its mouth closed; wild animals are captured by listening to the sound of a flute; fish are greedy for the food on the tip of the fisherman's hook, and die on the beach; an elephant wants the cool touch and enters the lake and dies, like this. The Mūlasarvāstivāda Vinaya says, "Like fish, moths, elephants, and bees, here you should observe like wild animals." Therefore, in the mind-streams of us people, there are also hidden and latent afflictions, like salt dissolving in water. A person with a disease may seem healthy now, but once he comes into contact with food that triggers the disease, the disease will manifest. Similarly, because of attachment and clinging to the objects of the five desires, we diligently create the cause of the three lower realms—non-virtuous deeds. Therefore, there is no choice but to experience suffering, which is unwanted. Now, to eliminate suffering, it is necessary to abandon the root or source of suffering—evil. For example, it is not enough to just take medicine because you know it is a disease that causes pain. You must recognize the cause, condition, and nature of the disease, such as hot and cold factors, and then take the medicine that counteracts it. Similarly, you must recognize that the root of evil is non-virtuous deeds. As it says in the Abhidharmakośa, "Good and non-good differences, the paths of action are said to be ten." In short, it can be summarized as the ten non-virtuous deeds. Among them, the body has three: killing, not

Adultery, theft, the four types of speech are lying, divisive speech (822), harsh speech, and idle talk. The three of mind are greed, malice, and wrong view, etc. Generally speaking, killing any kind of sentient being is the non-virtue of killing, which need not be elaborated. The subdivisions are: killing with intention, killing with action, and ultimately complete. If all three are complete, then all the non-virtues of killing are complete, and the karmic result is very heavy. Killing with intention means the arising of the intention to kill. Killing with action means mistaken cognition, such as stepping on and killing without the intention to kill. Now, the number of sentient beings we kill is uncountable, and even experiencing one non-virtuous result is not enough to end those. The ripened result belongs to the five inexpiable sins, represented by killing parents and Khenpo Arhats, etc., distinguished by lightness and heaviness, the three lower realms such as hell. In terms of the result similar to the cause, even if one temporarily obtains a good rebirth (823), it is short-lived. In terms of the dominating result, food and medicine are ineffective even if taken. Taking what is not given is when the basis itself is not owned by oneself, but is valuable property such as gold owned by others. Taking by force means robbing with violence or taking by judgment. Taking by deception means using dishonest means such as short measures in buying and selling and lending. Taking by stealth means stealing, or pretending to need something but actually not needing it, etc., obtaining through various methods, and ultimately giving rise to the thought of obtaining. Its ripened result is the same as before. In terms of the result similar to the cause, enjoyment is poor. In terms of the dominating result, harvests are reduced. Adultery is engaging in sexual activity with a woman who is under vows or owned by another, as well as one's own relatives. Moreover, the boundaries of relatives are difficult to define nowadays. In the Vinaya, the maternal grandmother, (824) the maternal grandfather, and descendants within seven generations are relatives, and beyond seven generations are not relatives. Therefore, it should be avoided within seven generations. In addition, even if it is one's own wife, etc., a place where sexual activity is permissible, one should not engage in sexual activity in places where it is not permissible, such as in front of stupas, the mouth, and the excretory passage, and towards pregnant women and those observing vows, etc., at that time, giving rise to cognition and engaging in incomplete sexual activity in a way that is afflicted.
