Like the Mother Tantra 'Samaya Million Section' and other Nyingma tantras like the ocean. Furthermore, as stated in numerous scattered instructions, abandoning what should be abandoned is the root of all faults; practicing what should be practiced is the source of all virtues, so it should be regarded as the root of the path. The fifth mind training is: As the 'Son Letter' says, 'If you obtain the instructions but do not meditate, you will certainly not attain Buddhahood, so you should abandon laziness and meditate with one-pointedness.' Thus, rely on the virtuous friend as your eyes, and no matter how many profound and vast instructions you receive, if you do not abandon distractions and meditate with one-pointedness, you will not touch the meaning of all-knowing wisdom with mere intellectual understanding and hearing. As ordinary people say, 'Like a great and excellent scholar, who liberates many beings, but himself dies there. Unmeditated Dharma is also like that.' etc. Acharya Aryadeva said, 'In countless eons, having reached the other shore of hearing, but looking back at his own blessings, he will not realize it.' Thus, like Thubpa's attendant Kungawo, he relied on Shakyamuni's lotus feet and reached the other shore of hearing like the ocean, but until the first council, he only attained the stream-enterer and did not attain the state of Arhat. This Aryadeva, in the true meaning, is an emanation of Vajradhara, as stated in the 'Vajrapani Manifest Empowerment Tantra', it is very foolish for us ordinary beings to desire to attain Buddhahood without meditation. Therefore, in order to awaken the profound wisdom that has been inherent in our own mindstream since the beginning, we should rely on a qualified and excellent virtuous friend, and learn without distraction following the profound path of the three key points, without giving in to laziness and carelessness even for a moment. Do not postpone due to the desire for pleasure and the search for food. Do not remain indifferent due to fear of external words. You should restrain your mind well, like a mother searching for her lost only child, without separating from this life even for a moment, you should repel laziness with diligence, do not delay or postpone, you should overcome carelessness with diligence, like a wounded wild animal.
