(434) (435) The ritual of the Tara Four Mandalas, 'Ornament of Intent, Witnessed by the Nagas,' is present. (436) That name, that Utpala (藏文,梵文天城体,utpala,汉语:乌 उत्पল). The pride of the dangling earrings, The opposing side of the eight fears, I prostrate, certain that it is only that. Here, to pacify all obstacles such as the eight great fears and sixteen, the ritual of the Tara Four Mandalas has three parts: Preparation, Main Practice, and Conclusion. The first is the general reliance on the Three Jewels in a clean and pleasing place such as a temple or monastery. In particular, four mandalas are arranged at the four corners of the blessed image of the noble lady (437), and five offerings are arranged in a row on each of the four sides. As appropriate, white round tormas, adorned with the three white and three sweet substances, are also arranged in four sets. In addition, bathing equipment such as vases filled with essence, and offerings for nourishment in each set, etc., should be gathered nearby. The second, the main practice, has two parts: accumulating merit based on the common Three Jewels, and accumulating merit based on the individual noble lady. The first (438) also has eleven aspects. The first is that one should bathe oneself and abide in cleanliness, and the refuge and aspiration are: To the supreme Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Recite the shloka three times. The second is taking the Bodhisattva vows: May all sentient beings have happiness and the cause of happiness. Meditate on the four immeasurables three times, and at the end: Until reaching the essence of enlightenment. I go for refuge to the Buddhas. And to the Dharma and the Bodhisattvas. Likewise, I also go for refuge. Having first taken refuge by reciting three times: Just as the Sugatas of the past (439). Generated the mind of enlightenment, and In the training of the Bodhisattvas. Just as they abide in order. I also, for the benefit of beings. Will generate the mind of enlightenment, and Likewise, in the training also. I will train in order. At the end of the three: Today my life has fruit. I have well obtained the state of a human. Today I am born into the Buddha's lineage. Today I have become a son of the Buddha. Today, before all the protectors. Beings, the Sugatas themselves, and In between, I have invited happiness as a guest. May the gods and demigods, etc., be pleased.
