Subduing the heretics, defeating all with the Dharma, and gathering all assemblies under control, may it bring you well-being. Then, the offering of food: Mix abundant food and drink with fragrant scents, and offer it with the syllable A (藏文，梵文天城体：आ，梵文罗马拟音：ā，汉语字面意思：阿). To those beings who have passed away from their previous body and have not yet found their next body, who are in the bardo realm, encountering terrors, without refuge or protection, without protectors or allies, the aggregates composed of the four names, the nature of feeling suffering, tormented by fear and delusion (585), the bardo beings who are lost and without direction, headed by so-and-so (name), I offer this. May they be free from the suffering of the bardo and quickly attain unsurpassed enlightenment. Homage! By the power of my intention, and the power of the Tathagata's generosity, and the power of the realm of Dharma, in order to make offerings to the noble ones, and for the benefit of sentient beings, may all the things that are intended in the mind, may all of them be accomplished as desired, without any hindrance. Do not commit any evil, practice perfect virtue, subdue your own mind, this is the teaching of the Buddha. Third, the subsequent sequence has five parts. Non-friends will also disappear, and friends will also disappear, just like experiencing a dream. Whatever wealth has been enjoyed will become the object of memory, and everything in the past cannot be seen again. In this short life alone, countless friends and non-friends have passed away. The sins committed for their sake, no matter how unpleasant, will be placed before me. Like this, I did not realize that life is sudden, and due to ignorance, attachment, and hatred, I committed countless sins. Day and night, life is constantly passing away, this life is always decreasing, and if life is exhausted, how can I not die? I am lying in bed, even if surrounded by relatives and friends, I feel the pain of taking life, which only I endure alone. When seized by the messengers of Yama, what is the use of relatives? What is the use of friends? At that time, only merit is the only refuge, but I have not relied on it. Protector, ignorant I, because I do not understand such terror, for the sake of this impermanent life, have committed many sins. In a place where people are cut off limbs, being taken there today will also feel fear, with a dry mouth, dark eye sockets, etc., if a different scene from before appears, being seized by the messengers of Yama, how terrifying they are! Being struck down by a great disease, extremely weak, what more needs to be said? Who can protect me well from this world? Terrified, with wide eyes, I look around for refuge. Seeing that there is no refuge in all directions, then I will be completely desperate. If there is no refuge in that place, what should I do then? Therefore, I pray to all the Victors, who strive to save beings, who have great power, who can eliminate all fears, and from today onwards, become my refuge. And the Dharma that you have realized in your heart is the fear of samsara.
