The owl that sees the darkness of ignorance, the crow intertwined in the abyss of suffering, the pygmy owl connected to cunning and means, and the six birds of prey that subdue afflictions are born from the mother's desire, and the filth of desire grows at the end of blood, and are called winged killers. Similarly, the cemetery pig that destroys the conceptual thoughts of cutting and sewing, the yak that does not change its nature, the deer that destroys the imprints of signs, the marmot that is free from the moisture of samsara, the otter that is liberated into non-arising conceptual thoughts, and the mouse that is liberated from any grasping and apprehending, these six are born from the non-duality of father and mother's ignorance, and the filth of ignorance grows at the end of flesh, and are ignorant of actions. From the perspective of action, the cemetery pig has fangs for killing, the deer has fangs for self-grasping, and the yak has fangs for playful discrimination, these three. The marmot has wings for obtaining permanence, the otter has wings that are extremely poisonous, and the mouse has wings of karma that delight in stealing, these three. The bear and the bat are symbols of not abiding on the edge because the three poisons are equal, as stated in the Tantra of the Blazing Yaksha: At the end of the bones of hatred, fangs grow; at the end of the blood of desire, bird wings grow; at the end of the flesh of ignorance, one does not hear sounds. Therefore, for the female bear who destroys the three poisons, there is wisdom that understands without being deluded about what is to be known. The bat that destroys the three poisons and flaps its wings has the wisdom to dispel the darkness of ignorance. Thus it is said. For the four common meditations for the deities relied upon, it is said in the Explanatory Tantra: Appearance and emptiness is the attracting mother, with the iron hook, wisdom is placed on the ground (69), eighteen emptinesses with the rope, non-conceptual thought is the binding mother, abandoning the sides of existence and non-existence, unwavering compassion is the iron chain mother, proclaiming the sound of emptiness, the mountain of signs is completely destroyed. The Perfection of Wisdom Mother herself is the bell and vajra that are free from grasping and apprehending. Thus it is said. Similarly, the meaning of the words of the material mandala of the phurba, as stated in the Vajra Arrangement: The nature of the phurba, the meaning is shown, the phur is called the realm of Dharma, the father is shown as the great lama, the phur is called the realm of Dharma,

Na is the wisdom of knowledge. Phur is the realm of no birth. Pa is the meaning of non-cessation. In the non-duality, the nature of Phurba. Phur is the king of means. Pa is the meaning of the wisdom mother. In the non-duality, the nature of Vajra. Phurba is equal to the edge of the sky. Phurba is vast like the sun and moon. It appears as the nature of equality to all. Phurba is the very essence of the Dharma realm. Phurba is the characteristic of the sky. Phurba is the very mind of the mind. Phurba is the king of tantras. Phurba is the oral instruction of the transmissions. Phurba is the definitive meaning of the oral instruction. Thus it is said. The above is the ritual of entering. Second, the actual empowerment is from the Great Yoga. Of the tantras, transmissions, and oral instructions, the oral instructions are of two kinds, upper and lower. The upper has six, the lower has ten. The two knowable things are samadhi. The lower is the action of the wrathful one. Thus, the upper and lower actions are summarized into two. Here, the root of empowerment (page 70) is of four kinds. The upper part shows the meaning of accomplishing enlightenment, and in connection with accomplishing the nature of various activities, the lower part shows the fierce liberation empowerment, and the nature of the life-vow of all, which are divided into these three. The first is, from the root tantra, the empowerment of blessings of benefit and power, is conferred in order. The meaning of this is that the entrance to cherishing the three confidences in accomplishing enlightenment in the upper part is that the four kinds of root empowerment cannot be accomplished by relying on the path. And these four are like this: just as beings have great and small vehicles corresponding to their physical strength, the way in which differences enter from above is from the Buddha Knot. Because of the beings' intention, like horses and elephants and buffaloes, and mares and rabbits and mules, benefit and power and view and entry, outer empowerment and inner empowerment, secret empowerment and means empowerment, however they are spoken of, they are four kinds. Vase empowerment and secret empowerment, wisdom-knowledge empowerment above all, thus are spoken of as four empowerments. The outer empowerment of benefit and the inner empowerment of entering power are summarized as vase empowerment, from the former, the vase empowerment is called, having the empowerment of the lord and five kinds. Thus it is said. Second, the secret empowerment and the wisdom-knowledge empowerment are both endowed with four views because they are regarded as the nature of the four unions.
