Even if one falls into a great fire heap, by holding the honorable name of the great hero, the noble Avalokiteśvara, one will be freed from the blazing fire heap by the glory of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Avalokiteśvara. From this point onwards, all fears such as floods are included and explained. Therefore, even just hearing the name has so many merits. The sufferings of the lower realms are unbearable, especially when beings in places like hell are tormented, may they also see the form of Avalokiteśvara. As it is said in the Bodhicaryāvatāra: 'If one sees the fire of hell being extinguished by the falling mixture of flower pollen and scented water, what need is there to suddenly feel this joy? May the beings in hell see the lotus hand.' Thus it is said. The fourth and fifth points are praises from the perspective of the nature of all Bodhisattvas. As it is said in the Kṣitigarbha Sutra: Generally, the difference between Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is shown by distinguishing between the path and the fruit. From specifically showing the differences of Bodhisattvas, the first point is: attaining unobstructed wisdom of all dharmas is Buddhahood, and entering the unobstructed path is Bodhisattvahood. As it is said in the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra: 'Subhuti, for example, entering is one thing, and abiding in the fruit is another, but one should not say that neither of these two are noble beings. Subhuti, similarly, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is one who has entered the unobstructed path. The Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha is one who has attained unobstructed wisdom of all dharmas, that is, one who first generates Bodhicitta, one who has the aspiration mind. Subhuti, this is the difference between a Bodhisattva Mahasattva and a Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha.' Thus it is said. The second point, the differences of Bodhisattvas are fourfold: entering into practice is the six perfections, non-retrogression is abiding in the three pure grounds, and being bound by one birth is no longer abiding on the path. As it is explained in the Chatuhsimhanada Sutra, as asked by the Ocean of Intelligence. Here, a neutral stance is taken on Kamalaśīla's view. That

(89) The explanation of the Noble One is: From the perspective of eliminating Ajatasatru's regret, it is called the Noble One because it is free from all defilements and views. Thus it is said. The fifth is: ཐླྷཻ. (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning) If the basis for eliminating obscurations, the ultimate truth, is connected. Seeing the Buddha as a form, understanding the Dharma as sound and words, seeing the Sangha as a community, and those whose eyes of wisdom are impure, for the Bodhisattvas of the ten bhumis, it becomes an obscuration of knowledge, to be connected with abandonment and elimination. As stated in the 'Inconceivable Appearance of a Boy Sutra': See the Buddha as Dharmata, not as form; see the Dharma as free from attachment, not as letters and definitive words; see the Sangha as unconditioned, not as a community; the eye of wisdom will become completely pure. These four are like that. Thus it is said. The sixth is Akashagarbha: With the Bodhicitta that is skilled in aspiration and means, it eliminates the afflictions of sentient beings, sinful views, the karma of going to bad destinies, and especially the general faults of falling, as well as the five specific instructions to the king, the five instructions to the ministers, and the five of the Shravakas. For the first Bodhisattvas who have entered the Mahayana, it is the antidote to wash away all the faults, including the eight. As stated in the 'Akashagarbha Sutra': Son of good family, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Akashagarbha, endowed with great compassion, having entered for the benefit of sentient beings, is the one who liberates from great suffering. Pure mind is the root of falling, is the one who goes to bad destinies, is the one who destroys all roots of virtue, is the one who destroys (90) those sentient beings, son of good family, this is like medicine. For those who are suffering from the darkness of ignorance and evil views, this is like the sun. It is the one who makes the root of falling firm. It is the one who separates from those who have doubts in their hearts. For those whose vessel of the heart is broken, fallen, defeated, all the virtuous dharmas of sentient beings are destroyed, going to bad destinies, without refuge, without protection, all realms.
