Shying! May I, who meditates on the eight worldly dharmas as dharma, Increase my practice of dharma in a secluded place. Constantly urged by renunciation, May I make this precious human life meaningful. When I myself come to die, What need to mention monasteries and close relations? Even this body that I hold dear, I must abandon in the terrifying charnel ground. From this very moment, may I sever The strong bonds of attachment, And in the remote mountains, forests, and borderlands, May I take firm control of my own mind. To realize the nature of the mind, It is necessary to receive the blessings of the lama (714). May I always have compassion for beings, And unwavering devotion and respect. By familiarizing myself with the essence of the ocean of the path of truth, In every way, in my mindstream, May I see the truth that transcends Coming and going, permanence and annihilation, existence and non-existence. In short, in this life, the next, and all the bardos, Whatever happiness or suffering, good or bad, may arise, Since there is no refuge other than the lama, May the two aims be spontaneously accomplished. Self-arisen Samaya! By Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa. The dharmata of the sugata-essence Is the face of the naturally perfect great perfection. The eight consciousnesses are like clouds, in reality they are stains, Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa eliminates these stains. Therefore, in the heart of the stamen of your heart, May the lama reside in the nature of remembrance. Day and night, for a moment or an instant, I pray without ever forgetting. May your lotus feet be firm for oceans of kalpas, And through the cause and effect of familiarizing myself with devotion, In this life, the next, and all the bardos, May I never be separated from the appearance of the lama. May I not be overwhelmed by obstructing circumstances, And in the nature of remembrance that transcends the mind, Having perfected all the qualities of the grounds and paths, May my mind and the lama's mind become one. This was spoken in accordance with the intention of the three teachers and disciples of Samling. The kind lama Jigme Lingpa, Who reveals my own mind as dharmakaya, I pray that your lotus feet May be the life force of the ocean of teachings. In this life, the next, and all the bardos, May I be cared for by the lama's compassion, And may all sins, obscurations, diseases, evil spirits, and harms Be pacified, and in a secluded hermitage, May I quickly receive the blessings To have the freedom to practice the dharma (715) as it should be. This was written by Rangjung Dorje. A prayer for the long life of Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa. The ground-essence, the vajra of space, Samantabhadra, The ground-appearance, the heart-essence of wisdom, is joyful.

Rabjung. The very nature of appearing in various manifestations, Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa, please remain steadfast. In this degenerate age, where degeneration is ever increasing, when the two Bodhicitta minds and benefiting others decline, from the vows of the four means of gathering and the five families, without any thought for oneself, may you remain steadfast. The ladder of the two truths, the peak of the nine vehicles, the city of ultimate yoga, immortal peace, having entered oneself, to ripen and liberate others, may the self-born Vajra who establishes them remain steadfast. The mandala of prophecy, the rays of realization, if it is the Victorious One's doctrine that illuminates the day, then all those wandering in the darkness of suffering and arising, lead them to the path of true meaning, may you remain steadfast. Having generated the mind of enlightenment in the presence of the Blessed One Light Protector, upholding the Vinaya before Shakyamuni Buddha, in the midst of the snowy mountains, the path of Vajrayana, may you who clarify it through various manifestations remain steadfast. At the head of the ten powers, at the summit of the five types of perfect marks, from the head of the immaculate lotus-holder, may you who live without missing the opportune time of dependent arising, and attain enlightenment as a Victorious One, receive the prophecy of the first assembly. This was written at that very place because the Khen Rinpoche of the Secret Mantra Great Vehicle Land and the general assembly of the Sangha prayed with great devotion. Root Guru, Yidam, and Dakini combined, Padmasambhava, and Dekyong (716), the secret treasury of the Dakinis, Kharchen Za, may the twenty-five emanated lords and subjects bestow power and blessings, grant the siddhi of longevity, mastery, awareness, and rainbow body. With the essence of wisdom in an ordinary body, master of the secret treasury of the indestructible intention of the five aggregates, the hidden yogi embraced by Padmasambhava, may the rays of your wisdom and compassion remain steadfast for hundreds of eons. May the defilements of the Dakinis vanish into the sphere of wisdom, may obstacles and life-threatening situations be turned back into the pure faith of Kadag, may the self-nature of awareness be free from the continuum of birth, death, aging, and decay, may the ground appearance, the great wisdom, be eternally stable. Drawn by the fragrant breeze of wondrous faith, urged on by the appearance of the sun and moon in supplication, may your body be as clear as the summit of Mount Sumeru, may you remain steadfast in the indestructible Vajra realm. Transcending the realm of ordinary beings, the Great Perfection, after turning the wheel of the Dharma of direct awareness, without relying on the door of mental discrimination, may the appearances
