Now, not doing the act of severing, by the power of wisdom, the causes and effects of harmful things, knowing their nature, being skilled in reversing them, may the steadfast conduct become like a great drum 58. Even when lineage and conduct are in harmony, to act as a detractor is the nature of a foolish, malicious person. An old crocodile, always accustomed to evil deceit, pretends to be weakened by the suffering of its limbs and thus falls. Even though evil deeds are hidden in the heart, the consciousness of that one, being under the control of others, cannot endure the power of great wisdom, just as something that is too tight takes shape. The sharp sword of the words of the wise (61), although it does not possess the material quality of causing pain, causes even more fear in the hearts of the wicked, and is therefore appointed as the executioner to drive away the sinful. May the Bodhicitta become like a crocodile 57. The mind that apprehends objects through the senses is worldly meditation with investigation and analysis, but even when the conceptualizations of objects are extinguished, there is no higher seeing. It is the samadhi of the peak of existence, which does not transcend suffering. Wherever there is no supreme wisdom of a sage, the intermediate state of having transcended the two extremes is as if abandoned by the Middle Way, and the battlefield of the view of the aggregates is utterly defeated. Here, the wisdom that realizes selflessness is form is emptiness. Objects and the duality of emptiness are form, indistinguishable, not abiding in one, showing the great perfection. May the teacher appear like various kinds of wisdom. Even five hundred merchants of consciousness are controlled by one compassionate captain. The great ship filled with wealth and jewels, form is not other than emptiness. It is not devoured by the belly of a sinful crocodile, like the Asuras using arrows and weapons as means. Stealing and robbing, with the behavior of a cat, even the gods of the victorious ocean look on with shame at the sharp thorn in the heart of the deceitful. That one's sins cannot be shaved off with a razor. The tree of the aggregates together with life is easily cut down with one sword. Who can see the wonder of this virtue? May it be like the great compassion of a faithful patron 61. Even the world abandoned by the lord, from the belly of a reckless and cruel crocodile, plants birth in the great precipice of the lower realms, like a situation of straying from finely ground flour 62.
