Mindfulness is not forgetting the object. Discriminating Dharma is tolerance of the Mahayana Dharma, Dharma-wisdom, subsequent tolerance, subsequent wisdom, and their retinue. Diligence is delighting in its own nature. Joy is delighting in that very object. Perfect pliancy is the fitness of body and mind. Samadhi is one-pointedness of mind. Equanimity is allowing the mind and mental factors to settle into peace; these seven are the seven limbs of the path of seeing enlightenment, being without outflows. Among them, acquired obscurations and conceptual obscurations are abandoned by the path of seeing, and innate obscurations are abandoned by the path of meditation. Similarly, the conceptualizations of grasping and being grasped are abandoned by the path of seeing, and the rest are abandoned by the path of meditation. Having abandoned these to-be-abandoned, one attains the state of the first bhumi, the Joyful Land, on the path of seeing. Twenty, aspiration for the path of meditation: May I cultivate the eight limbs of the Noble Path, namely, right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right samadhi, and thereby traverse the ten bhumis on the path of meditation. Among them, right view is wisdom without outflows. Right thought is harmlessness, renunciation, and various kinds of virtuous thoughts. Right speech is the four virtuous paths of action based on pure speech, based on pure speech. Right action is abandoning the three non-virtuous paths of action of the body. Right livelihood is not being defiled by deceit and wrong livelihood. Right effort is diligence. Right mindfulness is not forgetting the object. Right samadhi is the four dhyanas. Thus, for the sake of attaining the state of peace, that is, nirvana, one cultivates the eight limbs of the Noble Path, aspiring to cultivate. Thus, the way to traverse the ten bhumis on the path of meditation is also: abandoning the opposites of the ten perfections, namely, stinginess, broken discipline, anger, laziness, distraction, ignorance, unskillful means, obstacles to power, failure to fulfill aspirations, and obscurations of knowledge, these ten are the very nature of the ten bhumis. Twenty-one, aspiration to attain these: May I realize the stainless, light-making, radiant, difficult to tame, manifest, far-reaching, immovable, excellent intelligence, Dharma-cloud, until perfecting all.
